PvP still in plans for 2.1?

So, right now I feel like I'm just kind of sitting around waiting for PvP to come out, and with the lack of information available on it I don't even know if it will be a viable way to play. I've been trying to get into the dungeon grind, and I just can't do it.

I'm concerned that PvP will end up being treated just like a mini game where there's no reward to participating (ie gear specifically tailored for it), or will be pushed back even further down the time line. Any one at the very least know if you will be able to acquire gear by participating in it?

1) They just talked about it a lot, it is in 2.1

2) There will be gear for it, as for whether it is or is not tailored for pvp only I dont know. Some of hte ones art was shown for looked pretty cool.

3) Don't expect the game to have any kind of big pvp focus, this has been known for a long time, the games main focus is pve, and will continue to be so.

It will be a mini game. PVP isn't important to FFXIV, this has been said from the start, it's merely being tacked on. He also said that all gear earned in PVP, will stay in PVP, and vice versa, you can't bring gear into PVP. It IS a mini-game.

I'm okay with PvE people not being able to bring their gear into it, and I'm also okay with it only being used in a PvP environment. So long as I can still earn gear and have my character "grow" while doing something I enjoy.

But if what you say is right, than maybe my hopes are too high.

Where was this stated? I can't find it anywhere just speculation.
