Security token or not is not the issue it is a under 8 hr account suspension I go to sleep wake up and suspended I also just got off the phone with a few people I play with my account did not come back on after I logged out last night so no one was on my account and mog station shows no new avatars. If someone made a avatar to do R.M.T. and was suspended it would show up and it does not.

That just doesn't make sense. You're saying you're being forced into buying a security token, hence why I mentioned that if you use android or iOS you don't need to buy the physical token. Someone else also posted on here (to clarify: Technical Support!) that their account got hacked but no new characters had been made. They knew the account got hacked because their friends alerted them that the hacker had logged into their main account and was sitting in one of the starter areas RMT spamming. Just saying that because no new characters have been made does not mean that you're account has not been hacked. There's also a possiblity that it's just someone hacking to steal all your stuff as well...

I have the physical token so I don't use the software token. I have heard other people have used it once they've been hacked but I have not heard of them being hacked with the security token added to their accounts, physical or software. Maybe someone who uses the software token can walk you through how the app works. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

Um yeah if you read my post I do NOT go to weird sites or fan sites and none of my passwords are the same. I am a tech I know better. There is no way since the game has started that they could have gotten my password through a web site and no way they could have downloaded a key logger or anything like that on to my Lap Top I use a separate C.P.U. for Tech use and my Lap Top for personal use.

I'm not going to accuse you of anything nefarious, but "I'm a tech" doesn't mean you didn't do something stupid and don't want to admit it.

If there was a massive server-side hack, it wouldn't matter if the one-time password token worked or not, the hackers could delete it from the account, or take the numbers needed to generate their own one-time passwords and go their merry way. Since this isn't happening, it means that whatever source the hacks are from, aren't strictly on SE's side. It could be PSN, Steam, Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo mail, etc A lot of SSO systems are inter-connected in ways we don't know about. There is some terrible irony of SSO simplifying the number of logins needed, but then needing additional passwords anyway because we can't trust they're secure.

Anyway, the way the one-time passwords work is that the physical hardware token, iOS and Android applications are just counting from a prime number position based on the current time, the one time password is generated from this is only good for about a minute. It's not infallible, but it makes the window for MITM/keyboard logging only a minute long.

The people who've been hacked so far, regardless if they will admit it or not, in order of possibility likely one of below:
a) bought gil
b) downloaded bots
c) downloaded mods
d) downloaded other cheating tools
e) had their email compromised by some other means
f) had Steam/PSN/XBLive compromised at some point
g) reuse their username/passwords from other games, that have been compromised.

Kisai point a thru g are pointless because I did none of those things I have 125k gil that is all all my matts came from leveling miner to 50 and botany to 36 I mined a stack of 99 each then leve the rest of the level till next set of resource points then rinse and repeat. I used quests or instances for all my gear so did not buy anything. The only thing even close to tsa is I used a curse word once or twice even then they say that is just a warning if reported and a ban does not come into play till the third offense. As for tech I have been around computers all my life since I first started messing with my moms IBM when I was nine or so I am thirty six now. I may not have the fancy degrees but I have never had my things hacked ever unless you account for those time my wife has made a slight error and even those I have caught in time to cancel what needs to be canceled. I have gotten to where I am in life because I do not take chances. I build my own servers as well as C.P.U.s minus the Laptop because I do not want to waste the time when I can get a nice HP cheap. I use payed for software that has thousands of good reviews. I do not feel the need to go to outside web sites because unlike a lot of people now a days I believe in staying educated and self reliant. There is no reason for this unless for some reason the way I level my self fits into there computer programs designed to catch people violating tsa. If so I guess when I call SE tomorrow I will find out and I can get my self excluded from any of that. Other than bad words here and there no I did nothing to violate tsa. So we will see.

Sorry peoples account get hacked or you get suspended. Its the one saying "I have 50 friends that will quit with me were that tight". SE has hundreds of thousands of players and I am sure you must have done the math... so toss a few pennys out the window.. thats the dent you make here. See most people when things like this happen this (forums) is not the place they come to cry. They email.. they call the get it all fixed.

You seem to be under some twisted thinking that you have leverage over them. sorry but the threatening yeah it never works. Your like everyone else..you bought a game got hacked or got caught.. call them get it fixed.

Personally I do not care what they think I am stating a fact why should people keep playing a game they played to play with me simple enough,also if some of those people keep playing because they like it more power to them that is fine with me to. I made it as a statement of fact if I can not continue playing a lot of people will quit as well. Also I did all I can at this moment from submitting a ticket to posting here so if come tomorrow I do find out it was just a error on the systems part it has been posted so that those few people that do get this same issue which may be a small percentage have a place to start once I find out what is going on tomorrow hopefully when I call them. I will post the response and then people will know end of subject.

Really I do not really care one way or another as long as my account is fixed. If they give me some reason that does not fit the bill I will just stop playing which yes personally would suck because the game is that good I like the way everything is put together...well beside support and the business side of it that has always been a big issue with SE.

Hahahaha your funny did you just not read the post? Plus I was taught that it was rude not to respond to people. If someone says something and I can respond I will hence why I do not make a lot of posts. So to recap since you seem to miss the point is I have done nothing to break tsa besides the odd and end curse words used which would be a warning which would mean there is a technical problem with one of there systems used to monitor the game. This I do believe is the tech forum......as for tantrum where have I become unhinged in my post or rude or mean or brow bashed anyone for there response some one makes a post I make a answer. It is so sad how little it takes for someone to have a opinion I have two little boys I know a tantrum when I see one honestly no one who has posted in my post has really done anything wrong I am happy for those who tried to point out issues that might have caused my problem and I re posted in kind to point out I did none of those things. As for my post about people quitting because of me if this where to happen to some of the major guilds that hop from game to game they would post the same in there forum post as well as there support post because it is a statement of fact there are those who play games together and if one can not play no one does because it is a social group. Granted I could have worded this better but the meaning is still the same there are people that this affects as well because they play for me. My wife and a few of my friends in other states play so we can do something together and be social these I know ill not play anymore a larger group of just friends in general might continue to play and that is there choice how long they might will depend if something else catches there interest. Like I said more power to them it is a good game not bashing the game there. Support I will bash because it sucks. If you do not like my comment or feel that its a tantrum you do not have to respond that is your choice as well. Either way I will keep posting and responding because it is the weekend and besides thinking about going to buy a new game for the 360 I have nothing to do but relax and do what ever I want.

i havent been able to play for 6 days now myself due to suspended account that was apprently hacked by gold sellers and i have put in multiple tickets and nothing is getting resolved it sucks
