Unacceptable Lag / ISP Throttle (Petition)

Now there's no need to throw the T word around, Slim. Arguably, Necrosis's post was constructive because it has prompted you to restate our reasons for feeling like there is something beyond throttling going on here. Maybe now some people who weren't informed, are. I get that you're frustrated, I am too.

And while I'm here... 'Tis now day three of error 90k-palooza for me.
Next thing on my FF agenda is a dungeon too, but, risk 90k-ing as a tank in a dungeon? I care about other players more than that. Looks like I won't be seeing much of Eorzea today.

First if this was an ISP issue then all kinds of other things I do with my internet connection should be getting throttled. Second if it was an ISP issue it wouldnt be affecting so many different people on so many different ISPs all over the world. And third no MMO in the history of ever should take enough bandwidth to cause throttling. Also there are people who have called their ISPs and confirmed that this isnt being caused by throttling. So if you are not going to be constructive and help and just troll then kindly go away.

Quoted for emphasis. Also, even if throttling were somehow triggered no way would the reduced bandwidth be reduced enough to starve an mmo connection.

Thanks for putting together such a great post. The game has become unbearable to play and I've avoided activating my subscription as well. I regret uninstalling and canceling my WoW. I can't do instances because of how often I freeze up. I've had two embarrassing experiences in AK with the Demon wall and lagged through two CM runs with my FC. I felt horrible in all four cases and I've decided to just grind out mats for my DoH class for now. Sad thing is I even freeze up while working mining and botany. I've never experienced this in any MMO I've played. I have two friends that want to play. Both were willing to buy new machines JUST to play this game. I've told them to hold off because of how horrible the game play has become. I don't want them grilling me after spending hundreds on a machine to play a game that chugs along like we're all playing back in the 90's on dialup.

I have the same problem and I'm not subscribing after end of free month. I will do it only if there will be clear evidence on this forum that problem was resolved. I play many online games including dota2, planetside 2, GW2, couter-strike, secret world and this is only one giving me this kind of network problems. It looks like SE screwed again, this time in network protocol department.

I have just experience this on the second time I log in today.
This is happening when the servers are pretty full.
When I log on earlier today it was bearable, but there were still lag but at least playable.
I logged off for dinner and came back then it was really bad lag waves that is constant, I tried relogging many time and same thing.

Pretty sure this is server side and not throttling.
In 1.0 this will happen when I got DC'ed in highly populated areas and would be fixed it I log off at the inn and relog.
This would work on beta and early access as well, but after the maintainence a few days ago this lag issue started to happen to many of my friends and now me.

Is SE even doing anything about this?
I so regret for paying the 180 day sub a few days ago, this game is unplayable at this state.

Thanks for this thread, i too have it on ragnorak EU.

Example: Titan Hard Mode - Activity - Moving from landslide, i do it and im out but i get a 1-2 second freeze then im dead on the bottom. many times it freezes for up to 20 + seconds. and its at certain times gmt+2 7pm-12am


Located in Norway, ISP Canal Digital. Ping tests for my area are very good around 5ms, but when i try to ping to canada EU server im anywhere from 150-300ms and it rubberbands back and forth making game play just rediculous i cant even raid unless its in the morning.

I can say that I experience the same issues with lag and throtteling as described earlier in this thread.

The grade of lag \ throtteling varies from day to day, where so far Sunday \ Monday and Tuesday are the worst days. The lags are normally from around 19:00 GMT+2(Daylight savings) until 00:00 GMT+2 (Daylight savings).

I've played many other games online before, aswell as I play other games on the sides now while playing Final Fantasy XIV - ARR (Ofc not at the same time but in between eachother).
None of the other games lag, not a single one. The ping and latency are always excellent and there are no spikes\throtteling issues in these games. This is the only game where I have this problem.

I have the same problem but its gotten to the point where it actually cuases my WIFI to lag and auto reset. If im not in FF14 I can use the internet fine all day long and even play other games online... soon as I get in FF14 lag kicks in about 20 minutes in and resets my WIFI... getting seriously annoyed not being able to properly play the game I paid for. Also im like 30 lvls behind my guildmates due to all the connectivity issues and not being able to play the game as much as I would like!

I know what that sounds like, but if the WiFi is dropping, the problem is your your hardware is overheating. The only way for the WiFi to drop is that the CPU isn't able to keep the radio running. That has nothing to do with the game.

For anyone else using WiFi... try connecting using the physical ethernet cable and see if the problem goes away.

150mb connection and in EVERY instance I freeze, lag out and 90K disconnect since last maint. period/bug patch.

I really don't think it's a throtteling issue at all.
