That game that set many (obviously not all) of the standards that have come to be expected from a modern day MMO? The one that has made billions more than "SE's most profitable game ever"? Yeah I don't know how doing some of the things they did right could ever make this game successful.

People in the XIV community largely hates XI and everything about/who played it, for whatever reason - I guess because some people would like to see elements of it back in ARR, especially the good ones but no one complains about ARR basically being FF graphics, WoW and GW2 thrown into a blender.
