40 minutes wait til for Instances....really?

Many things annoys me with this game, top among them is the wait time for instances. 40 minutes for an archer to ge into an instance.

Do I pay the money to sit around on my thumbs doing nothing?
No. I do pay to play to actually be allowed to play.

and since storyline can not be progressed without going into instance this is a time trap.
and I have heard nothing that leads me to believe that there is any kind of alleviation for this problem.

When this 30 day period is done I am not sure I will want to pay anymore. I am not a fan of sitting around on my arse doing nothing.

Don't use the duty finder to make a group. You are a dps there are a ton of you out there if you want instant ques either make friends with a tank or a healer or you could roll tank your self

this is a MMO, make friends, join a LS or FC and use them to do things with people. DPS is always a longer wait and there are plenty of things u can do while you wait.

dont want to wait, play a tank/healer or make friends with some of them to queue with and the world is different. As many ppl already do this solo DPS queue gets very long as DPS with a tank jump u in line because the tank is needed in the front of the line.

There are thousands of DPS out there all in line like you waiting for an instance. It is not just you waiting on a tank/healer. Party make up is 4, 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps. Now, to break some numbers in now granted actual numbers WILL vary. For every 1 tank there are 40 DPS, and for every Healer there are 20 dps. That means, you are 1 DPS out of 40 DPS waiting on 1 tank to Queue. Your odds of getting in are slim, but the Duty Finder Will keep moving you up in the Queue as DPS get their Instances and/or drop out of the Duty Finder.

Best suggestion, make friends with a tank/healer. Show them why they should run with you by being GOOD DPS. That doesn't mean pulling the Highest Numbers. It means following the Markings they layout (if any), stay out of Avoidable AOE's, move to run out of them, help with Silences, use the songs before being asked to (as a bard you have songs) and do your best to assist the tank. If you see a pat moving in, and the tank is obviously overwhelmed because of say a bad pull, kite the new add around until the Tank can pick it up and let him pick up, run it towards him, let him grab it off you then run out, let him get a head start on it then open fire. Show them that you are worth your weight and I can and will say, that you will be on top of his list when looking for DPS. I have very few DPS on my Friends List, and its for a reason. They showed me they have what it takes. Also join a FC and LS. You will have better odds.

It's only going to become longer as people hit 50 and feel no need to do most dungeons again. Get your story done while you still can.

Building progression into the story is a nice idea, but I agree, get one job through it now because soon no one will be doing the progression dungeons. I think by the end of next month you'll have to rely on begging to bet people to queue those, especially the first 4.

Do not worry... you will wait even longer to grind the same dungeons over and over and over at 50.

There is nothing SE can do right now, the problem is there are not enough tanks. If you are sitting around doing nothing while queued, you are doing it wrong anyways. Go do something else like Fates, Hunting log, gathering, crafting, exploring or level another class. BUT dont fret with patch 2.1 (november) we will get server intern party search tool, with this and DF it will be even easier and do go join a FC or make some friends to play with.

Oh my god, why does everyone think they are so entitled?

The game gives you as much as you put into it. Don't want to sit there? SO DON'T. Kill mobs, do FATEs, read the strategy of the dungeons you're in queue to run, so you don't end up as another coat-tailing scrub dying to things they shouldn't be. The world is your oyster bro, stop crying. No one cares.

Or would you like to go and buy a car and be allowed to drive it for 20 minutes a day. Heck why should you feel entitled to drive it further then eh?
