Not re-reading 22 pages so feel free to shut me up if this has been mentioned already, but I would love to see some Magitek inspired class. You've all seen the gunblades, you know you want them.
Druid : offensive conj job
Warlord : defensive lancer job
Barbarian : offensive warrior job
Praetorian : offensive gladiator job
Gunslinger : ranged dps archer job.. Nerf bard
Water Mage : Fast cast low dmg mage job
Just a few thoughts.
I'd like to see some more heavy armor DD. Kind of let down how war is the closest to that, yet has to queue as tank. You'd think drg would, but it gets very few heavy armor.
But more importantly, Pup.
There might be tbh, if you look in the mrd guild, theres another desk with a signboard that has 2 guns on it
The Musketeer's Guild. Likely that particular class will upgrade to the Corsair job. A pirate job out of a pirate town. There might be tbh, if you look in the mrd guild, theres another desk with a signboard that has 2 guns on it
Perhaps. Green magic in itself has been in every Final Fantasy game, however. Being a "Green Mage" does not mean you have to be the exact green mage from Tactics. Especially considering the race isn't present. I will admit to being wrong about it in Tactics specifically, but I feel that series to be a bad spin-off that walked into it's own line of nonsense. I also feel that a mage versed in specifically debuffing and buffing should have more physical prowess than the other mages, since they need to be offensive somehow outside of Bio, especially without the healing potency of a White Mage. It would make sense, especially in this environment.Problem with your assessment is Red Mages had swords as their main weapon, not wands or staves, so they can't come out of Thaumaturge or Conjurer as a main class. They'll need to have something else as a base that hasn't been implemented yet, possibly Fencer. They are fighters as much as they are casters. Look again on the stat ratings of FF Tactics A2 jobs and look again. Red Mage is ABOVE Green Mage in terms of attack power, above Blue Mage, on par with Spellblade but higher magic. Green Mage has an "E" in attack with Red Mage a "C", two tiers behind in Tactics A2.
Yes, I can see where my idea with advancements for the Red Mage were an issue. But that clears up some flaws in the multi-casting idea, assuming they throw in another class.
I noticed you were quick to point out my mistakes but not even mention any of the other ideas. I feel you're one of those downers...
I'm all about the gunblades myself.
Combine Musketeer and a 1- or 2-handed sword class for a gunblade job. Maybe call it Commando after FFXIII? Don't think they ever really had a name for Squall and Seifer's jobs from VIII.
Could even give it the full XIII treatment, have ACN be the 2nd cross-class skill pool so you could grab Ruin.
I'm simply a die-hard foaming-at-the-mouth Red Mage fanatic. After what the FFXI playerbase did to the job, I still have not forgiven them even though I haven't played in almost 2 years, though a portion of my ire tracks back to the developers for allowing it to continue for far too long and stagnate like a rotting corpse in a pool of uncirculated water to this day since before I stopped.I noticed you were quick to point out my mistakes but not even mention any of the other ideas. I feel you're one of those downers...
I apologize if I came off too harsh to you on that. It's a rather soft topic to me.
