Yes, that's how our FC does it.
We feed it the first two slimes before split. Then zerg it after the split with no slimes.

It rages and gets a stack of Steel Scales once every 5 seconds, it's very difficult to kill at this point.
We split our party into two groups, 1 tank/2 DPS/1 Healer and whichever group kills first the second tank Hallow Grounds and DD limit Breaks.
