How to make this game incredibly successful

i'm not a troll.. while this thread was meant to be somewhat entertaining, if i was paid to do marketing for this game this is the advice i would give. It's worked for -countless- other MMOs and free to play games. Look at games like Lineage. They show large chested woman in skimpy armor in most of their ads (or at least did back in the day) and it worked -great-. Small changes like this would allow FFXIV to expand into a much larger market (girls that like cute stuff, guys into "sexy chars", anime fans that liked FFX-2 etc)

That target demographic (teenagers. kids) usually don't have computers that can run this.
Once the PS3 version comes out, I suppose it would be more viable.

But really, I want to think that SE has a bit more class than that. Although seeing how rocky of launch this game had, I suppose anything is possible if they're desperate.

Well I couldn't give a rat's ass about corsets. Make some more interesting undies for the male characters, most of those look like they were borrowed from a granny.

these suggestions sound sexist. And if you actually gave this as marketing advice, you will get smacked. Most the other games that used such gimmicks or sexist stuff are tasteless mmo/games with no real meat to them. Evony is one of them. I can same several hundred others. Women do play mmorpg, (me being a 26 year old lady) and find those tactics tasteless, tactless and infact a big turn off. Idm collectable pets or a deep love story somewhere down the line (see ffxi riogrimm (sp) + cornillia, the undread pirate and sultana in treasures) But the above 2 suggestions will turn people away. Sure sex sells, but SE is to classy for that. And yes I know they have mild fanfare, but even that was tasteful.

tasteless mmo games sell. especially to the average player of console games.

look at dead or alive.... especially dead or alive beach volleyball.

Its not sexist. sex sells. romance sells to teen girls. etc. And -A LOT- of teen girls have PS3s. Look how popular Ragnorok Online is. If SE could tap into that market demographic the PS3 launch could be a huge rebound and hit. This version of the game obviously didn't appeal to that many people.
