Dear Conjurors who are new to MMO's

Better learn the job early becuse higher lvl dungeons are no joke for healers.

I feel like the story tries to prepare CNJ for their role on the lv 15 quest where they have to keep the Wood Wailers alive.

I am new to the MMO world but even I understand that the healer's job is to heal first. However, as a new player I concur with others that helpful advice is always welcome.

Not had any issues so far but only done the first 3 dungeons and to be fair the tanks I have had were not bad which made my life so much easier. Pretty easy to keep the group topped and maintain dot(s) on the boss. If you are new to healing just keep watching how much your cure restores and you will soon see how much damage a tank can take before you need to even worry about them when you work that out you can weave in damage or just chill so your mp doesn't run dry.

lets PRETEND that the content was easy enough that you could dps.

dpsing cost mana. i dont know about you, but in longer fights you kind of need mana. have you ever played an mmo, ever?

I think the only fight so far I haven't been able to swap to Cleric Stance and help DPS is Titan hard mode.

No wait I used it to help kill the Heart.

Well we're now a bit into release and some people have started to get how things work in dungeons. But the people who haven't are horrible. I tried running Sunken Temple of Qarn like 5 times before i got a decent healer. Hell one didn't even know what a tank was and tried to take the lead which naturally ended in the party being ko'd frequently.

Seriously this is frustrating a hell. Thank you all of you healers that actually heal and be the life of the party. I can only hope that people can follow your examples.

Disclaimer: so I read the first four pages then decided to skip the rest, but here is my two cents.

Advice: People will die that isn't your fault, don't fret. Your responsibility is to keep productive members of the team alive. If your dps is a tool and he keeps standing in red circles....I let him die, better for me to keep mana and heal a party of 3 for success. As the healer you have the most control of the situation and the responsibility of being the most aware...(if the guy who clicks the cannon dies and your other people are stuck in tunnel vision, then you break healz and click the cannon) or ( your casting a heal and a red circle pops underneath you, you need to know when to break cast and get out the circle or eat the dmg because if you break, your tank dies) Only way to know those things is with time and experience. Most importantly, Have Fun!

Once your gear improves, at least for AK dungeons and such, your mana is nothing to worry about. I pretty much only run with my FC and we are all full Darklight with relics. I usually sit in cleric stance and dps and only heal with Medica II and Regen's.

Coil however you will never be able to dps, those fights are no joke for healers. Make sure you are very comfortable healing and I would highly suggest mouse over macros.

I thought it was quite fascinating, I had never seen this phenomenom before, All these "fake healers" running around not really doing their job properly Hehe.

On my server something strange has happend most have disappeared, we have gone from being overcrowed with healers to very few.

You know, new people in the ge nre tried it and found that you have to watch everyone, the environment, keep track of your offtank to know where to run if aggro, and any mechanics, and didn't like that kind of responsibility or realized it was too hard for them.

As a first time healer myself the first dungeon I did the other day, I had died several times tyring to learning the ropes. Luckily, I had found a good team that kept my spirits up and we pressed on. Though some of us are new and slow, make sure to at least try to help one another out and not go straight to the hate. I've now run four straight dungeons with random groups to have no one died and no ones mood dampened. Go team!

I’m still not completely sold on the idea that it was just because players were new. Obviously it is a "part" of it but not the whole reason. I had just never seen this type of behaviour in other MMO's which I found quite interesting :)

I’m actually starting to think it was experienced players (maybe non-healers) wanting to try something different. The DPS that Conjurer’s and White Mages can do is pretty good compared to some other MMO's The fact that in some cases healers can be used fairly offensively with cross class skills maybe people thought they could level particularly quickly.

Plus we all got a free unicorn :D
