As LVL 50 in all DOH/DOL - stop now it's a waste of time

It's not even that crafting gear isn't the strongest, it's that Darklight outright destroys the effort put in to make it. Who needs the hassle of making that stuff to prepare for I90 farming when Darklight does the job adequately and costs much less in tomes/time.

Well, Darksteel gear (I call the IL70 crafted gear the 'Darksteel' set) is slightly superior to Darklight gear. However, they do take FAR more tomestones than Darklight gear itself. One would think that the failure chances and effort of the crafters/gatherers would make up for the higher optimization they can achieve.
I don't quite know since I haven't been focusing on that, however, how many tomestones would it be for, say, a DRG Darksteel set and for a DRG Darklight set?

is not so much as dungeon gear been better that crafter gear.. some crafter gear if fully and properly melded are better than dungeon gear.

i think the mayor problem now is people are leveling so fast with fates that from 1-50 they dont really care about gear since they get XP on fate without any effort. so they dont buy gear.
if fates where more demanding on the player . Crafters would be selling more items.

The problem with this is that, even w/o side quests, DoW/DoM WILL ALWAYS level faster than a DoH/DoL. So you end up with a lv50 PLD and lv10 ARM/BSM.

Can you get your DoW/DoM from 42 to 50 in under 3 hours? Because I did on my CUL.

It is about 5625 seals for all the coke that is required plus you would need the vanya trousers to complete the set which is another 1125 for the 9 potash for that. Im not at my personal terminal so I can go to Mor Dhona and check but I am sure it is more expensive then the darklight set. Darklight is for all extensive purposes is the easier way. But I have come to far to stop now and I am going to make my heavy darksteel HQ reguardless. But the I80 stuff for crystal tower should be out soon and with it the crafts to par it which I can only imagine will be just as hard to get together as the i70. But what we dont know is if the i80 armor will be vendored like darklight is if not then it will be on the same drop rare as primal weapons.

They increased crafter leveling speed for sure, but heres another fun fact:

Unlike 1.0, you no longer need to level EVERY battle class in order to be successful with one. early 1.0 was hardcore in that aspect. You needed skills from multiple different classes to be REALLY good at that one class. In late 1.0 and ARR, you only need 1 battle class and a little bit of 2 others to make that job the best it can be.

With crafting tho, LIKE all of 1.0, you still need to have EVERY crafting class leveled to be the best crafter. 1 crafting class won't let you take a 2 star recipe from 0 quality to 2900 quality and still finish, but you can with all leveled. So they make crafting classes faster to level so people can reach that level quicker. Not so sure they should have tho.

i dont know you guys if had this kind of experience:
i have crafted HQ accessories with AF to went to AK raid, was bashed by the whm, coz he/she has all the darklight accessories.
whm thought we dont have enough DPS even before started and asked me why i didnt get my relic and darklight.
after several kills, i should say pretty fast on those small mobs, whm left.
well, face it.
dont waste time on crafting and gathering. just go to raid again and again.
wtf, SE, again pls remove DOH AND DOL unless you plan something after LEGACY ppl burn out gil in house system.
I dont see why Legacy ppl should use gil on others right now.

Crafting is for making temporary gear that helps you reach higher stat numbers faster than by farming. Turn your argument around: if you could get the _best_ gear through crafting, why would you farm non-endgame dungeons?

Because if you are playing 2 parts of the game you should be rewarded. If you are maxed out on crafts and lvl 50 DoW/DoM you should have something to show for it not nothing to show for it. Yes if you spend the time crafting and spend the time raiding dungeons, you should have better gear than someone who only raids dungeons. As it stands now, that is not the case. As it stands now the ONLY reason for crafting(minus cooking) is repairs and the relic quest. Yes ilvl 70 crafted gear can be better than darklight, but people saying that it can be better than ilvl 90 gear are dead wrong.

42-50 in about three hours for me too. You can trade in high quality apple juice x3 three times from a single allowance for a total of 280kish experience. At 45 you can trade in La Noscea Toast x3 three times from a single allowance for even more experience. We're not making this up. It's completely true. 42-50 takes about three hours and I gathered all my Apples and synthed the pre-ingredients for the toast myself.
