    This iś not only a ps3/ISP/ issue, the problem mostly come from SE servers and the fact that they authorize more players to play on a server than it can support. They open a large number of new servers in US and Japan, but the worlds transfers are not ready yet, so players with high lvl caracters don't want to create a new caracter and start again from the begining...
    Maybe in a few months we should see the end of the tunnel...
    No its mostly a hardware issue seeing as i load every player and mob instantly and never have seen mobs or players not loading and yes I ha e been apart of every large fate ingame granted I'm on a very high end pc but the problem is the priority they load things and the limitations of your hardware combining to cause this

    Well you have a point but if a company tells you u cab play it on the ps3 you should be able to play in the ps3 not everyone has 1100 for a good gaming pc

    It can't be only because of my hardware, cause before the last update I've never had any troubles in dungeons. I agree with you that the ps3 is limited and that it cannot load instantly hundred of players, but during dungeons, with only four players, it's not normal that i've spent more than 30 min whithout being able to see my teammates.
    Also, i know some friends who had the same issues than i am, with the same type of connection, same ps3 and all, and when they tried to use VPN it fixed all their troubles... So if it's a hardware issue, then why the use of a VPN solved it for a large number of players ?

    Then your isp most likely classifies the game as peer to peer software and throttles the speed as far as the latest patch goes that is still not a reason in my opinion seeing as i know 5 people irl with top end pc's and them along with me have seen 0 of these issues so it is 99 percent of the time a combination of their priority for loading things your isp and you hardware that causes things to not rendered perhaps calling your isp could resolve it mind you the update may have had a effect on how your isp views and throttles the bandwidth used by the game. (sorry if I use incorrect terms for a few things but you should get my point)

    Yeah the performance on the PS3 leaves a lot to be desired. It's not just FATES; but neither is it every fate. For instance, anybody who has done Svara on a PS3 knows that there is undoubtedly a huge problem, I.E. Svara doesn't load at all - most of the time. Sure, you can turn all of the combat effects off and it "might" work, but other problems persist. Waiting for NPC's to load in general is a persistent problem.

    I'm getting a PS4, and I'll be taking advantage of the free upgrade, but I do feel bad for those who have no intention of buying a PS4 and are left with a decidedly inferior product. The problem is, I honestly don't know that there is much Square Enix can do to make the PS3 more functional.

    Normally things are OK, but when there are a lot of people (happened in Drahonhead and the Processing Plant), things tend to disappear, which is frustrating because you get there on time but since nothing loads, ends up in time running out.

    Fights like Svara, DD, Gorgimera (?) among others are good examples.

    I do hope that it's different on PS4, but then, I believe that the beta starts on February? So it's three months after launch.

    I am one of the individuals who will be getting a PS4 on launch or very shortly after. I'm disabled so I don't have luxury of playing at a computer desk like most. I could hook a PC to my tv but I'm also not rich enough to afford a 1100 dollar gaming system. So I'll settle for dropping 400 on a ps4 and sitting comfortably on my couch where I can tolerate the physical pain. This issue lies with the prioritization to which the server sends the appropriate data (the monster first) aka culling. There needs to be an option in the system config that limits the amount of players rendered at any given time (eg; 5, 10, 15 players selectively) so when you enter a popular fate, you only see the amount of players you want to see. Easy as that.
