    Consider this alternate situation:

You're DFing for AK on Monday or Saturday, when there are 45 minute+ wait times even with a full party.

You get in, excited to finally start capping out your Myth Stones (or barely tolerating the fact that you need to do this bloody dungeon again) when, after a few sets of mobs, the tank runs ahead. You and your group follow suit, unsure of what he's doing - after all, they nerfed speed runs. And, after he has this big train on him...he opens the Demon Block chest, lots Need, wins, and leaves.

This is the equivalent of what that dude did, except in Wanderer's Palace, there are less people who click "Join in Progress."

Saw this happen a lot in WoW over the years I played it (Mostly in Wrath, off and on in Cataclysm). Tanks joining dungeons and then dropping the minute the first boss didn't drop that one piece of gear they wanted. It's really sad that such a great tool like the Duty Finder is abused by people like that.

Play a tank. There's really no way for the developers to force more people to play tanks, sure they can create incentives, they can add new tank jobs or classes, but at the end of the day a majority of people will play DPS because they're used to a game culture where the DPS's role is less readily integral, and they don't want to be on the hook for the responsibilities of tanking or healing.

If you don't want to be subject to shithead tanks, then level one. Thankfully in this game you can play as one class to farm seals for another, most games give you no such luxury. As far as finding the entire community worse than any other MMO, I have a hard time believing you've actually played many MMOs if you feel that way. If anything it's marginally better from my experience, if not the same.

We had something somewhat similar happen the other day. He didn't run around so much persay, but he was generally an awful tank. He burned the limit breaks as soon as he got them and didn't particularly care to engage the part. Finally we loot a chest with a green, he needs it, wins, and then burns out limit break one last time and leaves.

STO had a great solution to this. If you live in the middle of an instance you cannot join another for an hour.

The problem with this is that it only serves to give more amusement to griefers. The griefer just annoys people and halts the dungeon progress, they only leave once someone else leaves first. The first to leave gets the penalty and the griefer got their amusement.

I don't think this kind of behavior can be fixed by SE, unfortunately. No matter what kind of punishment or mechanic you put in to prevent it, they will find a way around it.
