Reporting people via the chatbox

I've got more names on my blacklist than anything, went from 0 to 20 in half day and so far I got around 48 and counting. I've lost count on how many reports I done so far on various RMT spammers at this point. Having to either manually type their names or copy them into the box for the list is a pain, especially when trying to click on send tell to get their name in the first place as they spam at the speed of Formula 1 racing or close to it. Well did that until I started doing the /blist add "RMT name here" which does make it easier but still getting to their name while being spammed to death does not help the process and is more of minigame. I had to turn off my shout chat completely since it's beyond ridiculous. Also these things are like the friggin Borg in Star Trek, assimilating people into their "collective" and sending out their drones to get more players assimilated.

Having the option to right click and report that also blocks them for a certain period of time or altogether would be very helpful. Throw in a feature to where you can only shout every 5-10 seconds for the time being (Note: NOT PERMANENT, unless SE thinks otherwise) until this mess gets sorted out that would work like a speed bump for these bots that go 200 mph with their nonsense. I would add my support to this.

I do find it to be harassment for these people to send you unsolicited /tells advertising goods that are gained/sold in violation of their Terms of Service.

I once again thank everyone who has given their support to this thread. Let's see how much longer it takes for this to be sorted out. I don't like having to turn off my general chat tab when I enter a capital city.

Been a while so I don't remember the exact specifics, but WoW's chatbox had a thing built-in where it would "lock" you from chat if it seemed like you were spamming. Basically if you tried to spam more than three inputs into the chatbox within a certain amount of time (I think it was something like 3 inputs within 3-5 seconds) you were prohibited from posting anything else for 20-30 seconds.

SE get your act together. Personally I am nearing my limit on my blist and all of them are Gold spammers or those who sent gold tells. Truely it is annoying. Why is there such a convoluted way of reporting them? Here is the easy way SE, have a GM make a level 1 toon (one for each city). Give the toon god like GM powers. Enter said starting city, start nuking the full accounts of the gold spammers. What that's too hard?

Sure I am probably over simplifying things but truely the comment above on how to do it seems like passing the problem off on the users instead on them trying to do the right thing.

Ugh, last night in Ul'dah was brutal. Zone in, <slam> Chat box scrolling so fast with multiple gold spammers, <ding> getting tells from gold spammers

<5 mins later, added idiots to my blist><Zone into another area>

SE, you home? I know that personally you don't care if players drop their subs due to this. However, it's getting old. I don't know how much longer I will tolerate this before pulling the plug. In general, listen to your player base and do something about this. This is a time where you do need to be confrontational and eliminate these accounts that are harassing other players.

It's not just the cities, I have been out the in the middle of no where and then <ding> gold spam. It's particularly annoying if you are trying to talk to someone or fighting.

Not only it reached the ridiculous line weeks ago, but it's getting worse everyday (I did not think it could possibly worse).

Just now : 5. Not less than 5 bots at the same time in Ul'dah, each spamming 4 lines long messages every 0.5 second (not to mention the one PMing me just after I added those jerks in my black list).

I'm starting to wonder : aren't SE RMT by themselves ? This is the only explanation I could find for the lack of action on their side, sorry.

Now for the respect of your customers, DO SOMETHING SERIOUS ABOUT THIS MESS ! And I seriously suggest you to do it before the subscription fee starts.

From now on, I'll just switch those completely useless channels. I could not imagine doing this in any MMO, but I have no other choice now.
