Because comparative stats aren't always simple, I'm curious from other Dragoons what your opinion is.
The Giantsgall has better crit, which is good for us since we're burst. But Ifrit's has more Determination.
Thoughts / Opinions?

Ifrit's. The damage is better. Everything else is secondary. Crit would be better than determination until (if) you hit a cap. But weapon damage trumps it all.
giantsgall are ilv 70 while ifrit is ilv 60
so i would guess giantsgall is the better no?

Well thats your opinion, not a fact. Just to point that out. I think giantsgall would be better suite for DRG since the class is built to crit often (I'm assuming its crit dmg), and from the few test some people did here in the forum, determination doesnt seem to add much to the dmg calculation. At the end they probably arent much different.

Except Ifrit's has considerably more raw power. Of all the weapon stats to list, by far the most important is the physical damage (or magic for casters.)Well thats your opinion, not a fact. If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!
In my relatively low experience playing as a drg you want weapon base damage to be whatever the highest you can regardless of the rest of the stats. Beyond that it's always str and vit priority. Then depending on whether it's for endgame content kinda decides whether I focused on:
acc >det > ss > crit
or if accuracy isn't the issue (BCB) I preferred
det >ss > crit >acc
Someone here posted around that 1 str = around 4 det.
Interestingly I was never lucky enough to get my ifrit weapon, but i ended up getting a hq champions lance from a pal (aside from my relic quest) that i put 17 det into (materia) to give it overall I think 1 damage, 3 str, 2 vit, 1 det, and some accuracy less but gained +20 crit and +25 skill speed.
Accuracy was never really a problem for me doing anything till BCB so i overall saw my unlucky mans makeshift ifrit weapon as par with the true thing despite doing less raw damage.
