New to Fate Grinding

Hello,

I just started grinding fates yesterday as I am looking to gain seals for my grand company.

However, my first experience grinding fates resulted in a disaster as I unknowingly killed specific mobs and ended a fate that people grind for experience points. Needless to say, people raged at me, berated me, and threw me on their blacklist.

Is there a list of fates that people leave open to grind? Or can someone give me an idea of some of the fates that people leave open so I can avoid the same situation in the future?

LMAO. Why are they chewing you out on the damn FATE? Should of reported them if they were being jerks.
FATE is an open world anyones game thing, it's not THEIR EXP only. People in the game are getting worse and worse

I'm assuming he means FATE's where there's one single larger boss mob with higher HP and continuous spawn of smaller mobs. When the big mob dies the FATE automatically ends no matter how much is left on the timer.

People like to milk the system of a few fates, one being Dark Devices (lvl49) and anything that requires an item turn in (all levels). Sadly what they did was wrong, but little babies will be babies.

I was referring to Deadly Devices in Northern Thanalan actually. I killed the lambs with some other guy and everyone raged. While I understand these people need to take a chill pill, I try my best not to impede others progress since they are there to exp grind. I was wanting to know if there were other fates in other zones that people don't finish right away so that they can grind exp and so that I can avoid those fates.

What kind of behavior is this?! Just because somebody doesn't know doesn't mean you should act like a total idiot. Why should they blacklist you?
If I was the mod there I would ban for stupidity like this for a whole day. Ugh...
If I was playing on the same server I would try to ruin their system exploitation and just play the game how I want. That is, go there every once in a while and end their grinding session by killing those specific monsters you were talking about. Just because. ^^

I had a guild member who did a similar error by killing mobs in a fate "out of turn" and also getting blacklisted. As far as I understand, there was some kind of queue for the FATE... I'm not sure if anyone can shed some light on the specific fate involved for that one.

It makes sense to play nice with others, but I sometimes wonder if other players should actively shout out instructions for fates like those. Just write a macro with the instructions for new players and the like. An alternative to avoid spam is to just shout out for instructions to specific fates when you enter a new area and avoid treading on toes. If they still blist you after not explaining it, it's not for lack of trying on your part. It's not ideal for the community to blist someone for not following unspoken rules. It seems along the same lines as leaving a dungeon group because one party member has never run it before.

On the plus side, you're probably better not partying with the players like that anyway.

This doesnt help actually, due to how they rush the fates. Like in South Shroud theres a FATE in 3 parts (at the north at the gate). If you fail the 1st 2, you actually get more XP (and an achievement) than you would by finishing either of the 1st 2 in the chain.

I don't know anything about end game FATE grinding but FATEs are what they are - random people attack a monster and get exp. by not "grinding efficiently" or whatnot that's their problem not yours. You do whatever you want, and if nobody educates you or explains to you on what you possibly "did wrong" to rob them of whatever little bit of exp, then the hell with them anyway.
