People who think you need full darklight to run AK are idiots.

    /shrug

Join an FC, make friends, create a good static party and run it 2-3 times every couple of days.

    Done and done.

EDIT: Whoops, forgot the point of the OP... Run the dungeon and get the rewards or don't.

Whining about trash is just sad.

Whining about missing an opportunity to exploit is sad.

    Exactly this.

Even though we could clear it between 35-40min it still feels very very long and boring. The amount of trash seriously needs to be reduced by 20%-30% to make the dungeon more manageable.
I laughed kinda hard at the more manageable. You can skip A LOT of mobs. Dungeon is fine, 40 mins is a long run, hence, just play better.

@OP - I'm farming Darklight in this system. I'm a Legacy, but I made a new character, and really am just starting to jump into end-game.

The time commitment is perfectly fine. It's an incentive to not wait on long DF queues, and actually get groups of friends together to do runs. A quality (middle-geared) group can finish it in ~45 minutes, which isn't remotely unreasonable. 7 times a week to cap out your Mythology stones (mod a few Primal runs for the last 20, or an 8th AK run), and you pick up enough Philosophy stones to get an accessory or piece of armour. In case you're bad at math, that works out to a little over a run a night worth of activity. That is extremely modest.

The problem with your perspective is that you're expecting things instantly. You're expecting to be able to get full Darklight within a week of dedicated playtime. If you have a little bit of patience, you'll likely find the trip to end-game gear a lot more enjoyable, and of about the right length, besides.

OP confirmed for CoD player. If you want instant gratification, you've come to the wrong place.

arguably the current best weapon in game is farmable in a day, this is the perfect place for instant gratification.

Make mobs drop... I don't know... gil? SOmething to make it feel as if some progress is made by fighting them. As of now it feels as if its forcing more repairs rather then being very useful.

Grind wise... yes, stuff IS suppose to take time, that is the point. The issue is making it feel like you are getting something out of it that right now its lacking a bit of that.

This comes right back around to my earlier question that no one answered: How is SE supposed to accurately tell who exploited and who didn't? And again, why does this need to be punished? What they were doing was unintended behavior, but it's still questionable whether or not it was actually exploiting anything. They were just skipping mobs that served no other purpose than to slow you down. That's closer to "clever use of game mechanics" than being an actual exploit that involves breaking something or taking advantage of something that was clearly broken.

The only thing speed running did was get you to the weekly cap faster, but since there is a cap and it can easily be reached even without speed runs they aren't even getting a leg up on anyone else.

Having the mobs drop coffers that contain useful items and gear would be the way to go since there are already some mobs that do that.
