One complaint I would have about White Mage is that we have very few useful cross class skills.

Ruin - Completely useless, intended to be used with pet support so it's weaker than other attacks
Physick - Redundant, same as Cure I
Virus - Useful, I should use it more, always forget I have it
Eye for an Eye - Don't have it yet, doesn't seem that useful, 20% chance to reduce damage by 10%? meh
Thunder - I like it, although the MP cost is a little high, using Thunder - Aero - Aero II (in that order) the DoTs all line up nicely
Surecast - great skill, when it absolutely must be cast
Swiftcast - awesome skill, totally worth the investment to get thaumaturge to 26 to get it, most useful to use before Raise and Medica II

White Mage has no choice in what to take for our 5 extra skills at level 50. Ruin and Physick are completely worthless.


I think White Mage should be able to use these skills:

THM
Scathe - damage
Manaward - magic barrier
Lethargy - slow/heavy

ACN
Bio - DoT
Miasma - DoT


I don't see why these couldn't be used by WHM and would at least give us some options.
