what about they reset it 2 times a wek and halve the drop rate by 2 ?

I would just go with outdated, I really wish people would let whatever past MMO they played mindset go so SE can bring people something new. The amount of people that are crying for dailies is just sad and pathetic, find out what sells on the MB and go farm it. Its literally the same time and effort as a daily but you're not told to do it once a day. Hopefully SE only focuses on the JP said of suggestions/complaints but if they actually listened to the NA forums we will be playing WoW 2.0 in a matter of months.I wish people would stop bringing outdated games with outdated mechanics to justify currently crappy mechanics.
It's pretty much like saying sexism in the workplace in western countries isn't so bad if we remember women were property before. It's a useless statement. The point is whether the current iteration is bad.
Must be some of that new math.
To OP:
Reducing the lockout would be silly. If they did that then why not reset the mythology timer at the same time? Then we can max out our gear in half the time and you'll have a different thing to cry about... the lack of endgame content that hasn't been exhausted. 1 week is the norm in mmo's and works well, it sets a pace for gearing progression the dev's can predict and helps content to last while they create more. I understand that you don't like to do anything but run endgame dungeons, my advice would be to either expand your horizons and enjoy other parts of the game or start playing multiple MMO's so you can go raiding from one to the next since all of them will have weekly lockouts.

I like how everyone's response to the fundamental problem of "I like this content, I wish I could do more of it" is "you want gear handed to you."
That's like saying you shouldn't be able to make more than a million gil a week in the auction house. Because then you'd get too much gil too fast and it'd all be "handed to you."
What kind of backwards ass idiot logic is that?
If the man is capable of clearing this crap then THAT should determine whether he gets gear or not. Citing other MMOs is a weak argument from weak minds. Then again, there's always gotta be some idiot defending bad design decisions somewhere, making excuses for developers, etc.
He wants to play the game and have fun, the fun is being locked away behind a time gate. That's like running out of energy in a "social," game; bullshit.
And if your only counterargument is "Well he can level other classes or crafting," well that's about as fun as chopping off your own leg for most sane people. Yay! Let me level a second battle class with none of the story quests! Woo! Brainless fate grinding! Or rerunning the same dungeons I've been to 80,000 times!
Ohh, leveling CRAFTING! Now that's real exciting. Almost as exciting as chronic back pain.

Why do you worry about the lockout if your FC is at turn 4 at the moment?
You can do turn 4 without a single piece of Allagan armor so what's the point in doing the raid twice a week if you're not against a content blocker (because of lack of gear)?
I think 1 week is totally fine. Gives you enough time to progress a new boss without doing the lame cleared turns more than once a week.

You are saying i should wait for new raiding content? Whats the point when crystal palace is going to have lower ilevel gear, whats the point really? Coil on a 7 day timer is INSANE.
More drops means higher dps to beat the dps race. Without having to resort to stacking op dps classes. Why do you worry about the lockout if your FC is at turn 4 at the moment?

So far coil 1-4 has been just dps check with nothing really difficult. so the 1 week and limited options to upgrade gear is sort of bottle necking progress for a lot players. Especially for non cutting edge guilds who want to take weaker classes.

I don't care about the gear, I care about the lockout.
I wish they would let you do Coil as many times as you wanted, but you can only roll on loot from a boss the first time you do it that week.
That way you can pad out your FC's second group, do pick up groups if you want practice, and/or help a friend(s) through the content, all the while keeping the gear progression the same.
Face it, some people just want their gear, to be the best at what they do, and thats great, thats fine too. But some of us also just want the experience of raiding with friends, and having a "loot lockout" instead of a "dungeon lockout" would go miles in this direction to lemme do the content as much as I want.
I do wish we had a bit more flexibility with running in a 2nd group, possibly with removed lotting rights. Also pulling ppl into the higher turns because 1 person has progressed farther is annoying. Eventually this becomes farm and this is moot but right now its a scheduling nightmare.
