Aaaaaaaand it's Wednesday. Like I said, cite or it didn't happen.Actually, it's a reasonable guess if you think transfers arrive at the same time as the resumption of digital sales (though it is a connection SE never made). ...and assuming SE decides that all went well on the servers this weekend, and the servers do seem fine after the last update, then digital sales resume again this week, per SE.
Before anyone accuses the above poster of lying. It was based on an interview at PAX done by Massively with Yoshi earlier this month: http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/09...expanding-fun/ Go to paragraph 11- the one by the pic of the choco.
The Mogstation & Lodestone say Mid-Sept. Yoshi made a post last week saying they hoped to have a announcement in the very near future. So it is a toss up as to when they might actually happen. Fingers crossed that it is this month and not in Nov/Dec.Next up was a question about server transfers, and Yoshida said that they will be available within two to three months.
I have zero doubts that if they really wait 2 to 3 months to implement transfers, then entire friend groups will miss out on playing this game together. I have at least 2 friends that will simply give up and move on before then. I can't even begin to state the disappointment I'd feel if this were truly the case.
In my opinion, getting separated friends back together should be the #1 priority for Yoshi right now unless he wants a significant portion of his player base leaving this game with a bad opinion of it.

Bla bla bla. I have friends across four different servers and we have no problem waiting for tranfers. We figured we'd make the most out of it. We've even made some new friends who'll be transfering with us when the time comes. If someone quits we'll feel bad but it's a mutual understanding between us that we'll go on playing.

I just wish I knew. I'm finally able to reroll, and I just want to know if I should or simply wait for "very near future." It's very opinionated on what that means. For someone that's not been able to play with friends, a week or two I'd be worth waiting. A month or two, iud rather cut my losses and reroll.
/10charactersFor Worlds that remain crowded despite these measures, and for those players who have been unable to create characters on their desired Worlds due to congestion, we will be introducing a World transfer service. Please keep in mind, however, that if you choose to move to a highly populated World, you are more likely to encounter the login restrictions described above─choosing to transfer to a less-populated World may prove to be the best choice for your gameplay experience.
The development team is currently testing this service extensively to ensure that the transfer of character data will be safe and secure.
Though there is still some work to be done, we hope to bring you an announcement regarding the availability of World transfers in the very near future.

Don't know how you missed the announcement when you logged into the forums, but I'll help you out:

Key quote:
'we'll be resuming sales for both the Windows and PS3 version for North America and Europe today, and then for Japan tomorrow (9/18).'
As I said before, Yoshi never formally linked the resumption of sales with the world transfer service, and that is still in the 'soon' category.
Mog Station says beginning mid September, so hopefully it's available soon.* World transfer service is scheduled to begin mid-September. An announcement will be made on The Lodestone at that time.

Aye, one reason I'm concerned. I would think it should have been announced either for the 11th or 18th since those two weeks are the middle of four. Like I said, I'm not trying to be demanding, just would like to know so I can start from scratch or keep putting time into my toon.
