2 primal stories that made me quit using DF.

Me (WHM), my bf (BRD), and 2 other FC buddies (1 PLD and 1 DRG) decide to go and sign up for a quick Ifrit run.
So we start fighting, I heal and heal and heal. Heal my PLD buddy, and those to stupid to avoid the glowy things on the floor and so on (basically the other party members sans my buddies and the other WHM).
I'm starting to run out of MP, scream at my bf for ballad, while realizing that the other WHM still has almost full mp.
We wipe, due to me running too low on mp to keep the tank alive. One of the DF members leaves, so we decided to let it go also.
A parser log check later confirmed my suspicions, all the other WHM did was toss out a Cure 1 from time to time.



Other story: I decided to try Titan via DF vor fun and training. Join the group, they immediatly start bitching about me only having a iLvl 60 staff (Ifrit's Cane), because only iLvl 70 should be allowed. I'm like, "yeah sorry Garuda never gave me any drops and Moogle decided to be an idiot to my WHM too" (because I've got every weapon except the one for my mainjob) Also by that time I had almost full Darklight, only the legs and part of my Jewelry were the iLvl 60 stuff from Amdapor.
So we start fighting and I'm doing my normal healing routine (being used to my static tanks, that know how to keep hate).

Since we had a SCH I'd wait for his Succor to heal up everyone during the first round of stomps. At the second round, I'm tossing out a single, normal Medica. BAM, Titan is after me, I shroud, back to green. I toss the PLD a Regen, and before I can say meep, I'm dead. Guess who decided, that Flash wasn't necessary.

Tank started bitching at me, because I was using Medica, that I'm to stupid to heal and that's obviously the reason why I'm doing things on DF .. so I was like "Stop blaming it on the WHM and learn your freaking job, the PLDs I normally do this with, don't even have problems holding hate during Medica II spams"
It was the only time I ever ragequitted a DF group.

Well my horror story is my first time playing Brayflox as WHM. Honestly I can't say the Tank didn't have reason to complain when we repeatedly wiped on the boss and ran out of time. I absolutely suck at avoiding the bosses poison spews, so that ended me on 2 separate occasions. I gotta be more mobile I guess. We did fine initially but keeping up with everyone being poisoned was ridiculous. Then it just went downhill from there on. At times the Tank would move out of range of my cures trying to kite the boss. I should have known it was going to go down hill when we basically wiped on the second fight. Well I gotta rework my quick bar and be more mobile. Man that was horrible.

My first Brayfox as a SCH
Was runing dungeons as ACN until I became 30
Brayfox was my first dungeon and it can be quite challenging for a new healer
Thanks for poison boss when you have no way to remove it...
Found out my good/bad time was extremely reliant on the tank

Stone Vigil
Tank run the lv 42 dungeon with some equipment from mid 30s.
I steal hate in one heal.... assume I was maybe healing too fast, wait next time, steal all the hate again... putting stoneskin beforehand not changing anything
The tank cannot keep any aggro, the bard and myself became the "tanks" and he DPS I guess...
After a few death and being blamed for not healing him, I give up

Good but challenging
Titan fight. Could do it on first try using DF. We were all first timers. We wiped 2 times but 3 one was good.
It was very challenging I though but super happy once cleared and it was overall fun even if I am some big scares.
The first wipe was extremely quick (basically all pushed from the platform), the second was probably me not being reactive enough and not being able to keep people topped
3 try was super tight but we made it and I was super happy to be done

I think this is my healer's nightmare at the moment. Run it 2 times, both time through DF with new players.
The first time we could not make it. We run out of time with chimera at 10% health. It was because we wipe a lot at the boss 1 and 2.
Second time we could make it but it was still terrible as a healer.
I will probably never run this dungeon ever again. I had no fun. i was stressed all the time.
Only happy time was when we defeated the last boss and I knew it was over.

As a 48 healer I'd like to say most of my progression up to this point has been pleasant with just a few hiccups on dungeon bosses along the way.

My one horror tho was when levelling my gla and the healer in the group popped cleric stance during a dungeon boss and proceeded to use stone on the biss totally ignoring healing duties and the questioned me when I died!

I'm a lvl 50 WHM (currently trying to get SCH). and the only horrors I have faced is when people blame me, because they cant work together. I ran the last place in the story (cant remember its name right now, the place with Anima). and I was WHM, and my other WHM had cleric stance up. and was doing DPS. I couldn't keep everyone's health up. The tank was taking damage. all I did was cast cure, and a whole bunch of cure II. but they said I wasn't healing at all... I was watching the other WHM (Who was supposedly healing) all I saw was Stone II, Aero II, etc. and I was the one who wasn't healing... I died so much because no one was killing adds. and they said I wasn't doing my job properly. -_-

And then there are the THM/BLM who think they can heal because they know physic... it was during brayflox. so they had to sleep the extras. they didn't sleep. and they used AOE attacks... After I put the enemies to sleep... and I was still blamed for not doing it properly...

exactly the same reason i've first time ever ragequit a DF group. :C
it was my first time on HM Titan, of which i informed everyone. never had any hate issues on any dungeons/bosses before, i guess i was too scared and got carried away with them heals and Titan nuked me after his first jump.
but it wasn't the tank who went apeshit, it was a DRG. "useless heal die like shit" et cetera.
what's more, turned out he's from my server, and i got spammed with "you are fcking bad" pms from him, no matter what i replied.
some community gems really shine on Titan.

Started doing AK, was not as hard as I thought as long as the group has lvl 45+ gear and have a basic understanding about the various boss mechanics. 9 out of ten runs so far has been really smooth. But last one really got me upset....2 dps in lvl 20-40 gear who could not dps out of a wet paper bag. The tank was ok but it all came to head on demon wall where I politely asked the tank to at least taunt the second bee rather than having it kill me 6x in a row which was met by "bring it over to me and quit crying" (it was 2 ft away from him fyi) and "quit yer QQing noob. Jeez you are a whiny little <edit> arntcha, kids these days. Pathetic.". I was like what the heck brought that on? I said nothing about the terrible DPS that kept getting killed by avoidable mechanics nor actually insulting his ability as a tank other than asking for him to deal with the 2nd bee somehow. This is first time out of 7 years I have rage quit an instance in any game. Infact I counted all my lines of conversation in that instance which totalled to three, none of which was insulting. I have a feeling this will happen often in FF 14....

1) Sastasha: I queued with Duty Finder and got a Gladiator with level 5 STR + DEX gear only. To no surprise he died during my Cure casts... and blamed me for it. He even tried to give me tips on healing throughout the whole dungeon.

2) Cutter's Cry: Final boss. Chimera shoots the blue ball stuff at me. I get away as far as possible, then his eyes start to turn Violet. I decide to run towards Chimera only to get hit by the blue ball and theb by the Violet light anyway.
Next try! Same scenario happening again, this time I just ran away thinking I can tank the Violet attack. Nope, get hit by Violet stuff, get stunned and hit by blue ball thingy...

Learning how gear dependent it is for the Tanks, then that I have to shore up the difference.

DPS saying instances need Tanks and Healers too much (Left that DF... sorry to the rest, didn't want to carry him ).

Bossy tanks, I get that most tanks take on the leadership role most of the time, but different leadership styles work with different people.

Over all, I find the DF/FFXIV community quite nice and patient.
