When Crafting and Fishing becomes fun instead of being the current mind-numbingly, repetitive and boring tasks they are currently, players will not have the strong desire to bot like they do now in order to simply level up crafting/fishing jobs.

botters will still bot
legit players dont become botters because they dont like something, legit players just dont do it at all
cheaters bot, regardless of how involved, easy, hard or whatever the system is

Let's make one thing clear. Crafting in FFXIV is by no means superior to crafting in WOW. The only thing FFXIV does more is that you need to chose your mats and the amount of mats and then chose the recipe which IMO is a waste of time. We should have a recipe book with all recipes learned and selecting one would take the items out of your bag automatically.
Having to chose the mats to start a recipe slows down the whole process and has 0 benefit. The crafting process is the same for every single crafting job out there and basically you just spam the same button over and over just as you do in WOW. the only difference is that in WOW you press the button once and you get the item and in FFXIV you have to press that same button a bunch of times and watch a little animation.
How some of you think this is better then crafting in WOW or makes you feel that you earned anything only because it took you 10 times the amount of time to craft a single item is beyond me. I'm all for making thing more interactive and having a sense of accomplishment but this is not the way to do it. All that SE managed to achieve with crafting in FFXIV is to make you waste even more time then you would in other MMOS when crafting and you get nothing in return for it.

Listen to Satan, he knows what he's talking about.
Where the horsebirds at?!
If the botters left the game/are banned from the game then there would not be many left in the game at this point in time.
Draw in the legit player by offering fun gameplay and there is no need to worry about the majority botting.
Regardless of what you think, legit players are not going to play a game that is boring.
But at least they turned it into a full time job Oni. Amirite?

I actually don't mind the Gathering Classes, but the Crafting classes are pretty much all the same thing, and there are more crafting classes to work on than gathering, so its just the Crafting Classes that I can see becoming extremely tiresome. If there was a way to make each class have a different synth minigame, then I can see crafting becoming a part of every player's schedule.

I'm not crying now am I? And that's why they should have all gear rank requirements, so lower rank stuff will actually sell. The main reason I picked up mine was to be able to repair some things that I have. Later I would pick it up, but it's not my main focus. With this super-complex recipe and tons of recipe to do, i think IF you really need to sell something, you can do it, just find what is sold out and try to sell that item.
You idea root back to the armory system, that people will buy ONLY highest rank gear for each class and nothing else. So why you just sick of that you can't rule the market..
How about the people that spend time 18 hours a day crafting without botting and he/she reach higher lv than you and this guy dominate the market and you cry that they outsell the no-time player? Still fair?
Make these DoH/DoL class to the hobby one, focus on fighting class, make crafting simpler and more fun, limit max DoH/DoL you can level up for 1 charactor ( like 11 )
I think this should solve some problem.
I literally fall asleep in my chair every-time I try to craft in FFXIV.I actually don't mind the Gathering Classes, but the Crafting classes are pretty much all the same thing, and there are more crafting classes to work on than gathering, so its just the Crafting Classes that I can see becoming extremely tiresome. If there was a way to make each class have a different synth minigame, then I can see crafting becoming a part of every player's schedule.
I am dead serious.
I can not stay awake past the 3rd guild leave, let alone try to level crafting outside of a guild leave.
I try to craft at least once a week, and each time... zzzzz... log off.
Yooooo. Fishing is so *** exciting. It's like I'm going to hop out of my chair and start swimming in the water and just grab these black eels as they try to escape.
