The only way I make money with fishing is selling turtle pets and raincallers. The rest is pretty much useless.

Square-Enix confirmed before Fishing was even available they have no plans of making it a source of heavy income, should spend more time reading official information.
However that said, a few Fishermen in my FC have raked in 400k+ already, it's all about finding a market. Don't blame SE for your inability to create revenue.

really....how do FSH plan to join combat ? throw a pokeball and summon magikap ? ;D

I disagree because I can.
I agree because I'll look better.
I'm right because I posted.
Fishing's for fun. It's a mini game.

Bumping this as a non fisherman. C'mon, add more cooking recipes, more "squeeze the fish" reagents in alchemy, some minor gemstones to fish up (pearl, mother of pearl, abalone shell, and coral spring immediately to mind,) some 'random junk' to hook that might be a chance at a small item. (You have caught a Hi Potion. Whoo.) The one mini pet's a good start, and can always be expanded on. The old 900 pound gorilla WoW holds weekly (or bi weekly during some holidays) fishing tournaments down in one zone, and even had an extra raid boss you summoned by gathering special bait and fishing for it. Fishing right now is so lack luster I feel sorry for the people who levelled it thinking it was going to be one of the main complementary skills to go with cooking.

Another who must read more carefully! While I value your opinion, lass, you overlooked what the issue is entirely! In fact, you use fallacies to discount my grievance!Square-Enix confirmed before Fishing was even available they have no plans of making it a source of heavy income, should spend more time reading official information.

This is not appreciated, and as your FC name suggests I should expect troll-bait (see bolded) from ye. Regardless, I shall give you due response as it would just be simply unbecoming of me to not weigh your opinions fairly!
Aye, you can fish til your palms blister tryin' to find those select few catches that are actually worth netting- Blacklip Oysters, Red Coral, and the pitiful selection fit for cooking. But, lass! Enjoy yer time at the soul-less sort in Hawker's Alley unloading your trash because it carries no weight in the game at all! Every other gathering profession has a use for everything it collects, why not us fishmongers?!
Indeed, I find your opinions insensitive at best!

I love being fisherman. The only job that I can play with one hand while holding my baby. Thus, I can get a glimmer of approval from my wife for gaming.
I couldn't agree more. I will definitely /sign
I definitely agree... I can't say that fishing is worthless as I've made a good million or so selling two or three things basically primarily, but there should be more that are useful.
