Lvl 21 hitting a brick wall

I seem to be stuck trying to advance the main story - Just completed the first dungeon, no luck getting a party for the Dungeon until I had a guild mate join the Queue with me last night.....and that advances to the next dungeon where I've hit a brick wall as in unable to get a group together for it or to get the duty finder to proc.

I'm just not sure where to go for my 21 Lancer, if you can recommend anywhere good to go where I can either find quests or grind fates while I wait for the Duty Finder to proc it would be appreciated.

Did anyone else have problems getting the dungeons done? or where to go next? It seems to be a lot of quests are tied into getting the main quest done. As I only just joined late last week I'm wondering if its just due to not letting more new players into the server to keep the dungeon ball rolling as it were? Just feeling very frustrated with it at the moment.

Try doing levequests, especially if you haven't done them. The first time completion exp is fairly good and levequests give decent exp overall. You can also do guildheists but that would require you to use the duty finder as well.

Dungeons and guildheists generally have a long waiting time, there's no way around it. The lack of healers and tanks make it so. As a DPS, you have the hardest time of all finding a party. If you were a healer or a tank, it would be quicker. If you can't find friends to play with and party up, I would suggest trying on the weekends or during peak times on the weekdays. I've had friends who waited over an hour to get into some.

Don't go too much farther at this point.

You are cutting yourself off from quests and the main story.

DPS suffer greatly getting their initial dungeons done.

Try to make friends with either a healer, a tank or both.

This is my one and only complaint about this game. Forced grouping to finish the main story line. Don't get me wrong I don't mind forced grouping at all it's when it's part of the main story line that I am disappointed. I want to see the whole story but I too keep hitting that brick wall therefore I am not getting to see the main story line.

I think anything to do with the main story in a game should be able to be completed solo so that you can move forward in the game at your own pace not at the duty finders pace.

You should really think about joining a FC (Free Company)... If you get good players they will join you in the dungeon and you will not have to wait at least...

This^^^. A good free company will always have members that are willing to help out

you need to get through the first 3 dungeons (Sas, TTD and Copperbell). After that they send you to find info on ifrit. Just queue up for the dungeons in the duty finder, it will take 20-30 minutes to get a group, but then you'll be done. Even better is to find a group while waiting outside the dungeon entrance. I teamed up with people for the first two and i got through them much quicker.

Like most MMO's.
The DPS outweighs the Healers and Tanks so it's hard for DPS to geta party fast.
I suggest ticking all languages [since there is an auto tranlantor too.]
to Dummydown the wait. Make sure you do FATE's and other stuff people said.
Don't just run through storyline only.

I am part of a FC, one of them helped me to get the 1st dungeon done but prior to that Queuing up for over an hour to get some of the duty quests done wasn't unheard of....I'll try and round a few of them up to get the next 2 done.

I love the idea of ticking all the languages, going to try that tonight aswell......Its also nice to know that I'm not the only one hitting brick walls. I think the games great but as @Caelynn said, this part of it really sucks

Since you can multiclass in this game, a wise move is making the first class marauder, gladiator, or conjurer. The tank and healer options are very unpopular in trinity games. This is why some MMOs don't use the trinity system...

Here, if you level up one of them, you can always use it in dungeons to skip to the front of the line.
