    Believe it or not, some people actually do. I've played mmo's for years and I've known plenty of people to buy in game currency. ARR is just starting out so there's not really a huge need to have 100k gil right away but in other games, a lot of people want to play but don't have the time to either merch or farm the money themselves. It's much easier to just buy them and get better gear and items in a fraction of the time and effort. That's why there's a market for it in the first place.

    ...but at the cost of losing your account, which, in future, you'll have paid real money for. It's probably not that hard for SE to spot somebody whose finances jumped from 10,000 > 100,000 gil in a fraction of a second.

    And given that these gold sellers are stealing accounts to advertise their services, you have to wonder why their customers expect to be treated responsibly.
