47 ifrit kills, 7 garuda kills... NO SPEAR DROPPED AT ALL

Cry me a river. I never once got Ifrit's Harpoon. I either lost the roll to other DRGs, or it was another fucking SMN book. Nor have I obtained Garuda's Beak. This was after many, many kills and many, many tears of disappointment. Went on to kill Titan in a mix of AK/DL gear and my GC spear, got my relic and Titan's spear dropped the same day. Go figure, thing is ugly as hell. RNG is stupid, but it doesn't look to be changing anytime soon, so don't continuously farm a boss for one piece of loot that's not even needed.

SE could very well change the reward system if there is enough discontent; therefore, discussions like these are valuable and are in no way a waste of effort.

I believe it is working as intended, It is luck based and hard to get, people is falling in the same crap complaints that screw up most mmos out there.

If i want to play only 2 or 3 hours a week, i can play single players or other genres. MMO'S are not ment for this typ of players, if the would make the game like that, people would be max gear in the first week.

I am not a 2 or 3 hour a week player. more like 2 or 3 hour a night player (on average... some nights more than others). Still doesn't change the fact that I feel like stabbing my eyes out with a blunt object would give me more pleasure than to repeatedly clear some content 65 times. (even with a good group, at around 40mins per run, and 30mins waiting for instance reservation, that is a total of 75 hours of gameplay to get full darklight. 3 hours a day is 25 days to get this gear... it is not a challenge, it is NOT fun (if you think it is fun you are either lying or a closet masochist), and there is no reason for that. What are you proving? I mean honestly! What are you proving?

What I believe you are pointing out is "balance". For everything there needs to be balance. I am not by any means asking for instant gratification. What I am asking for is less boring gameplay. if you want me to run something 65 times, why not make 4 dungeons that are all equal (which even if you could clear all 4 level 50 dungeons in the same amount of time and effort they are not equal on what drops out of them... 2 don't drop any gear at all, and one that does drops worse gear than the other, making AK the best all around). Then instead of running 1 dungeon 65 times, I would run 4 dungeons each around 16 times.

Many other games combat this issue very easily, make us be forced to "random" into the group of 4 dungeons (which should also drop equal rewards), and provide a small incentive to do so. Heck you could strip out all the tomes dropping from the dungeon themselves and attach them as the random queue reward. Then spread the loot table from AK out across all four dungeons. Problem solved. Gearing up takes the same amount of time (roughly) and feels better.

I got it 2nd try for both weapon(Ifrit and Garuda)....and I never saw any spear drop agian :\

35 with griefers, rage quitters, i will skip this goddamn weapon and buy hq aeolian, always sch drops, from 10 sucess 8 were bow and books

wow...after reading it it seems that the drop rate for SMN/SCH weapons is 5x higher than every other weapon. ifrit's blade and garuda's gaze are nice and all...but i'm not sure if i'm willing to grind that much for a single weapon. at least mythology tomestones come out at a specific rate, even though your limited to a specific amount per a week.


well...screw that. guess i'll start on af then. get darklight and possibly start gathering myth tomestones for af+1 armor while i'm at it.
