Simple fix. Add a variable to an account for such weapons, you can need on it for the first one, any subsequent and it is greed only option. Simple as this:
BooleanVariableIfritSword = False
Cast a need lot.
BooleanVariableIfritSword = True
Only greed is available.

I didn't say that you did. I was quoting you on when you said:
Which just isn't true.
Slippery slop fallacy. Counter pointed by the fact that this use to be the case in 1.0. Also, I wasn't saying they need to add an extra slot. I was just saying that the 1.0 system is still possible.
The original idea from the OP can have some balancing flaws but it's not meant to be a perfect idea. What would be the point of making the best gear in the game (as you put it) on a near guaranteed point system, but the lesser items on a chance basis? Also, you can't say that "this is what the devs had in mind." when it was the players that requested this system.
Which brings me back to the original question. Why did the players request this system over the original 1.0 system?

We're not even asking for a change now. It's just a discussion on maybe a better system....
I would imagine because of the gear progression. You must have missed my post:
Every chest in the game has a probability that it may not load the drop you want.
The only ones that are not from RNG are dark light armour, af+1 armour and relic weapons (uses tomes and quest progression) and is best gear in game.
You can work towards getting your RNG stuff while collecting points for your ultimate gear.
That is also why destroying primal weapons for seals when someone else could benefit is a bad idea.
Fact is the best gear you can get (apart from Allagan in coil?) is on a token/point system. You really need to try playing the game.
I guess that is what the dev team had in mind.
That answer it?
P.S Can you stop multiple quoting like that, it's a bit irritating.

I think we should be able to trade in 20,000 seals for philo tombs or something ridiculous like that. Maybe 40,000 seals.... Max seals even... Just saying this because I find myself hitting the cap on seals a lot and blowing them on exp seals for gathering or crafting as to not waste seals in fates.

Sorry, but in the interest of not misquoting you, I prefer to keep this original quote above the point I'm replying to. Anything less usually reduces in people forgetting about a point (sometimes purposely so to push their own agenda). I will try to reduce the amount of it as I go on.
No, I didn't miss the post. This is also a fact in the 1.0 system.
The rest I already replied to in a previous post. Which brings me back, again, to my original question.
Why did the players request this system over the original 1.0 system?
I have no idea that the players requested the current system. But for the most part it does work.
I am working on my relic sword, I am up to Titan. Now for these battles you have to be on the job you want the relic for. I am going to help a PLD friend on Garuda Hard, I was lucky enough to get an Axe from Garuda on the previous run, now I can help using decent gear on WAR to up the DPS a bit. My armour is from the point system. My PLD ultimate weapon will be from quest progression. That's how it's currently working and you should actually try it. You said you haven't tried it or intend to, I think this will make a difference...actually seeing it in action.
RNG, point collecting, quest progression adds variety.
No, I can't answer your question, I do not speak for all the players. I didn't know there was a poll on how drops are handled.

Well, I don't intend to farm for primal weapons. I do intend to work on the relic. I'm slowly making my way there. Got crafting classes to finish before I do that. But I don't think I need to experience the loot system to understand the loot system. But again, despite it working for "the most part", it's still a backwards in progress compared to the previous system. Hence the question. But it seems to me that your rationale for it now is "It works for the most part. I got want I wanted. It shouldn't change." Which really isn't a good attitude to take on any idea, imo.
It wasn't a poll. It was forum threads back before 2.0 beta started.
Anyone out there that likes this system can answer my question?
