    LINEAR GAME

This whole game is linear. It's like Final Fantasy 13, but online.

as a max level DRG I have the following options for my skills:

    Marauder
    Pugilist

THAT'S IT!? Are you kidding me?

The skills I use don't even chain off the skills for the other jobs, SO WHAT'S THE POINT!?

Featherfoot for my DRG? Yea, that is real usefull in PVE....
Fracture with a potency of 20? I do more damage with my auto attack....

There is nothing usefull for a DRG.

Now let's say DRG is just SOL. Lets look at my PLD who gets skills from:

    Maurader
    Conjurer

Heal spells are WORTHLESS, at lvl 41, I heal myself for 150! Out of 2400 health, I heal myself for 152 health points. And that is if my heal doesn't get interrupted. Foresight is OK, but it doesn't last long and has a long recast. And 20% damage reduction really isn't much. NO OTHER USEFUL SKILLS.

There needs to be a lot more customization in this game, you should be able to use all skills from all other jobs, AND there should be some skills that can chain off eachother from other jobs.

This is a joke, a really poorly told corny joke.

I'll check back on this game in 3 months after Grand Theft Auto 5 (which will be a far less linear game than this)

Honestly, does anyone have the same complaints?

I feel like I am on a guided path with this game. Like being on a roller coaster track, you can only go in one direction, and the only choice you have is to put your hands up or down.

I've not done Dragoon/Pugilist/Maurander so I can't comment on that, but in regards to paladins healing... yes? You're the tank, not the healer.

You can cast enough to keep yourself going in an emergency of if your healer is busy with something more important (raise?), but that's it. If you could heal for same as a healer, there wouldn't be any need for healers. You'd be tanking/healing yourself.

You must be a bit...I don't know how to say it because it will sound as an insult anyway. EVERY Final Fantasy has been linear, EVERY GAME has been linear, yes, you had your secondary quests to do, your world to explore, but you had to move to an objective some time if u wanted to end the game. GTA5 is gonna be linear too, as if you want to end the storyline, you will need to end your missions, you just have the city there to do things, but thats it. And on the skills thingie, I just can say u unlocked maybe the wrong classes for your needs. You don't seem to be using your brain so much honestly. There's lot of guides and such out there, look for them.

I can't see how you can call this linear. There are 19 classes all with their own questlines that you can can do whenever you want.

So what you are saying is you want a class that can decently heal, tank, and do damage, all while being able to pull whatever abilities you want from any other class? That wouldn't be broken at all.

Linear usually refers to a storyline which Crimsonlung has failed to even mention, this should be a forum about lack of diversity in skills. At first I found the game to have a much more limited skill list than FFXI but then again so many skills in FFXI are highly situation or just go unused altogether (the lower level black magic and healing skills) One thing FFXIV has done very well is to make players utilize every skill they learn throughout the entire game. a great example of this is Stone 1 vs Stone 2, Stone 2 does more damage but does not put on the heavy effect that Stone 1 has... not only is this brilliant but SE has also removed the useless money sink of purchasing skill upgrades every few levels. All in all I'm quite a fan of how they have designed their current jobs.
