    Ideas and Suggestions for the Future of FF14

    Hello! I just want to start off by saying Final Fantasy 14 is an amazing game. I played Final Fantasy 11 for 3 years and it was my first MMORPG. Since playing I've came up with a few ideas that I thought I'd share with the community!

    Companions

    I love fighting with my chocobo! When this was first announced, I was really excited! And now after trying out the mechanic - I love it. I would like to see more companion options though! First:

    Magitek Armour - I would really like this to become a summonable companion that we can use, one idea would be that it could provide mages some defense and amplified magic like it does in FF6. It would still take a party slot, and have all the other restrictions that come with companions, as to not make it game breaking.

    Moogles - While I would love moogle to become a playable race, a companion would be a nice compromise. Moogles are a final fantasy staple, and I think having one as companion would be great. Good King Moogle Mog already sets an example, we have a defense glad style Moogle, and Magic style moogles.

    PVP Raids

    PVP is not out yet in FF14 but it will be soon. Anyone who played 1.0 or beta would know the community has mixed feelings about PVP, alot of us come from 11 where "raids" were a much bigger focus, not PVP. One thing I thought be a good idea was what if they could give us a raid with a little PVP or competition thrown in the middle? I've thought of two ideas for this:

    'Dungeon Races' - Dungeon races would be a dungeon where two groups enter and race through the dungeon, with various mechanics to impede the other players progress.

    'PVP Dungeons' - once again two (possible more) groups enter a dungeon, but the dungeon has limited rewards. Players will need to fight bosses and each other to get rewards.

    Jobs

    Obviously, there is a lot of talk about what might be the next jobs to come out. I've heard Yoshi P mention Dark Knight, Red Mage, and some sort of Gun class. Here are my ideas:

    Gun Mage - The garlean empire have Gun Swords, and I would really like to be able to have one too. I think a class that incorporates magitek and guns would be awesome. Auto attack could be a simple sword swing, and there could be abilities to have things like fire bullets, ice bullets, and various other elemental gun attacks.

    Blue Mage - My Favorite Class in 11. I just loved traveling around finding monsters to learn spells and would love to see the mechanic again.

    Samurai - Also a favorite job in 11. I think Samurai would make the perfect second job for lancer. Samurai's in the real word traditionally used polearms much more than a katana. Katana was more there for looks, suicide, and very rarely, close range combat. The polearm was traditionally the weapon of choice for samurais. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have katanas, WE SHOULD. Only saying that it would make sense to have it branch off from lancer. Either after becoming samurai we equip katanas, or it could be a secondary weapon, and we use it only when executing samurai abilities - and the rest of the time we use a polearm.

    PVP Fates

    I don't like server wide PVP, but I wouldn't mind a Fate that included it. Since fates are completely optional, no one would be forced to do it, and could simply leave the area if they didn't want to. But I think it would be fun if there were 'conflicts' between the grand companies that could randomly occur through out the game, creating 'pvp style' fates. I haven't thought too much about the mechanic, but still I think it's something that could be worked with.

    Better Dungeon EXP

    I love dungeons. Sadly, the exp gain is pretty poor, and there really is no reason to do them beyond the gear. Also, there is the issue of people not wanting to fight all the monsters in a dungeon that was exaggeratedly worse in AK. I think it would be nice if there were some sort of EXP bonus at the end of the dungeon for clearing all the mobs, maybe even a gil one to keep people from complaining there is no way to make money in dungeons.

    This would encourage people to clear the entire dungeon and give value to the trash mobs, and help balance this with FATES. I don't think exp in FATES should be lowered because if they were, then we would have the opposite problem - no one would do fates and they would become impossible to beat.

    Summoner

    I've been playing summoner since ARR came out, and I love the class but that doesn't mean I think its perfect. One issue that has been discussed before is the EGIs. I'm okay with them and I've learned to accept them, but one compromise I think could be had would be if there was some 'temporary' way we could power them up and get a more 'traditional' appearance. It could be some spell that for a short time transforms them into a smaller version of there traditional look, so Ifrit egi would become Ifrit for some small duration with a cost - maybe MP drainage or something else.

    I also think we need more skills that directly affect our pets. We have almost no control over our pets (yes we can control their skills but most of the time were not, it's too much work to choose attacks for TWO people). It would be nice if we had skills like maybe we could share our HP, split it between us, or spells like that would link our character and pet together.

    Materia and Weapon Diversity

    One thing I find disappointing is the weapon and armor diversity stat wise in the game. Its all just + some basic stat. It's kind of boring, and now all the primal weapons are nothing but glamour and have lost their unique effects like healing and fire damage. That said, its clear they want to take our armor and weapons in this game and stream line them, so how about making Materia be our way to add diversity to our gear?

    I would like to see more different types of Materia that can do things like add Fire Damage, healing, maybe double attack (ridill anyone?) 'enhanced dragoon 'jump') things like that.

    Races

    First of all, please no rabbit people. We already have cat girls, why we need another cute animal race?

    Mixed Races - It seems like in most MMORPGs we live in a racist community, where two races NEVER get together. This is the 21st century! you can't tell me no Mithra girl NEVER thought about getting together with some handsome tall elf. Or no human wants a big galka girl. Come on! at the very least, make some NPCs that are mixed, so I feel like we are living a realistic world.

    Lizard People - We need a reptilian race in this game! Everything is so skinny, and furry..

    Moogles - Ivalice style moogles would be my favorite. I love playing as moogles and it was a nice thing about FF6, please a moogle race!

    They should definitely works on the gameplay of the summoner...
    I have it and I'm actively using it and it's definitely not as fun as any other class.

    My suggestion? Give more spells to engi, remove the ai for them, give us like GAMBITS!
    Actually they have the same spells as carbuncle for arcanists... Quite sad, really, I'm a summoner and I feel only as a debuff caster.
