I wouldn't be surprised one bit if these "elite" groups are selling their proceeds for RL money.

Well it could hurt other players gameplay in a way, normally when you see someone with a relic you think he is a decent skilled player. Now it could be someone who just got enough cash to pay the bill. If you party with said player he probably won't be that good, because he never earned the relic by his own effort. Well, that is not much trouble though, as you can see very quickly who knows what he is doing and who is not.
The endgame coil content you wont be pugging for awhile anyway, and geared players arent always skilled players and raiders dont want to carry bads during progression, when stuff is on farm tho slots might get sold.
Struggling to understand why people complain about these. It's there money, let them decide how they want to spend it. They're aren't forcing you to hand over your money. If someone who pays 10-14 dollars a month wants to spend gil on a boss kill, you have zero right to get upset over it.

most of the crap people jump on around these forums is absurd, i've noticed.
this community has a LOT of people who just cannot handle people playing the game in a way that they don't agree with, even when there is no exploiting involved. it makes for mildly entertaining reading, i'll give it that much.
"oh no, somebody is doing something completely within the game's rules that has no effect on me whatsoever! i need to tell them about how much i think they're wrong, as if my opinion matters at all to them!"
heh.

actually, at least with this, at the moment it may seem like it won't affect alot of people, but if this is left to fester on its own and a majority of the playerbase goes this path then this game is going to hit rockbottom because you'll have a minority of players who know how to play their role in tougher dungeons along the road.most of the crap people jump on around these forums is absurd, i've noticed.

you say that assuming a majority of players are going to take this option -- they aren't. this kind of thing pops up in a lot of MMO's, players do pay for it but it's never a majority and never will be. people generally don't want to pay a huge amount of gold/gil/random currency for raid runs.actually, at least with this, at the moment it may seem like it won't affect alot of people, but if this is left to fester on its own and a majority of the playerbase goes this path then this game is going to hit rockbottom because you'll have a minority of players who know how to play their role in tougher dungeons along the road.

my paranoia was lashing out.

To be honest i would take this route if i had the cash, i have ran ifriti 64 times and i have NEVER seen the paladin weapon drop. Iam so tired of dealing with idiots and the your not supposed to interrupt that ( i run this so damn much my eyes are crossing and anyone can make a mistake but its never caused a wipe) I would drop the cash for garuda and titan.
But really how is it any different then people paying cash for token purchased items. Its not, they are using their gil how they want to. What would be a good kicker is if they make the crafting ingredients no tradethen we would see the crafters whining....
funny thing is iam only missing a few of ifritis weapons lol.
