The Hatching Hour Approaches

Didnt they Mention something about "Grand Companies" too with the Dreamer's Quests and what not?

I don't recall Jihli's quests saying anything about the Grand Companies.


Here's what I think is going on.
Hatching-tide event is it's own event. Just a thing for easter. There may or may not be something happening with the archons arriving like Jihli predicts.

Storm Over Gridania is a different event. Which will lead to something huge. Perhaps a threat that will bring the introduction of The Grand Companies to defend against it. There is also speculation on whether or not this threat will lead to remakes of maps - especially The Black Shroud.

Those are just what I'm being lead to believe from what we've been given in lore and events in game. Could be totally off.
Just, right now I don't see any proof that these two events are linked. I'm not saying they aren't. Some people are assuming they are with no proof though - jumping to conclusions.


Whatever happens, it's all very exciting. I hope to find out soon if these events are linked, and if not, what will happen in each of them.

If the events are not connected, then I really don't have any guesses for what will happen with Hatching-tide IF anything else was supposed to happen - with Jihli's archons or whatever.

I have many more ideas for what Storm Over Gridania could bring. Garleans, Beastmen, map remakes, some new foe/threat? Grand Companies, new areas??

Anyways, I'm psyched and it's nice to see other people enjoying the events so much. ^.^v

Nah Your Cool, I rather talk to you than the some people who want to put down the game and claim they want to make it better but its whatever =).

Yes The Article, was well written and made the lore that much greater creating a jump start into the Community =). On a pervious thread one person said that they are doing the False Prophet thing to cover there tracks if the Shady Character Prophecy doesn't fall through. but that would back any sense considering all the other changes thats been happening besides that Phantom to comes and goes lol. And also about these Deaspected Crystals what about those, and those are part of the lore too in that First Article. And also all the NPCs saying Skies have become our Nemesis, and Ferry Boat gets sunken down things like that.

The whole thing here is to enjoy the game and for what they put out ( especially when it wasnt even in the patch notes and catching everyone off guard) That was a smooth move by SE, thats what I like to see out of them and I hope they continue that towards their endeavors.

I find the deaspected crystals especially interesting. I wonder if we'll have some use for them in the coming days/weeks. I wonder what they could be used for. I don't think it'll be too big, nothing that the PS3 users would be upset about missing out on (like an item we can only get now), but something to keep those play now interested and having fun. Maybe quests will be added relating to the Storm Over Gridania, and we'll need these crystals to progress. Or maybe as some have wondered, they'd be related to the materia system.
I'm collecting as many of them as I can get a hold of. Which is sadly only 6 so far. lol.. I'll keep working on it. Even if they have no significant use after all, I'll keep some for the memories.

I agree. I really really love the way that SE just slipped this event in without explaining anything. Just a touch of lore, some random odd events, and let everyone wonder what the heck is going on. It's brilliant. A great way to keep people thinking, wondering, and interested in the game. I really hope they do more of this in the future when we're unsuspecting.

Alot of People think it could be the "Beastman Seals" of FFXIV. But as one mentioned on the forums, the Arcanist could be using the Elemental Crystals as a form of Energy Supply that makes them use the abilities they use. Im leaning towards that because of the fact that "Deaspected Crystals are empty. and wait.. theres also Something else thats linked with these Deaspected Crystals, Remember the R34 Mission where You had to Take Crystals and turn them into "Deaspected Crystals... hmmm.. But what could they be used for if they were used in Mission R34... now theres something.. *ponders*

I dont think they be throwing Deaspected crystals without tell us what they are used for if it were for an "actual event" that last so long.. but they are continuing to drop at a very low rate and still getting them
after the Hatching tide event" now that event is over to a degree ( because people are still speculating a Continuation of the event because the lore was left abandon *at least for now anyhow*) I currently hold 6 so you 2 more ahead of me there buddy =).

Somewhat disappoint that Gridania isn't a smoldering ruin right now, but I greatly enjoyed the event nonetheless. It would be really nice if the Arcanist GM still popped up here and there (with a new message, perhaps?) to keep this mystery alive.
