You know, one thing I'm wondering (and I'm sure there was story related caveat to explain this) but why is it that the Scions and adventurers are running around killing all the primals beastmen are summoning, but you get to keep yours? I want to slay your primal, and get some Tomestones.

Because the summoner's Egis aren't powerful enough to have a mind of their own... so they aren't dangerous like the primals are. They are under the command of the summoner, which we earn through 'fighting' them in the storyline quest. (However, you must kill the storyline primal versions first before earning your Egi.)

I do think more Egis will be added. If I had to guess, the level cap will be increased over time... allowing more summoner quests and thus more Egis as a reward. Oooooor, all classes will get more jobs/abilities over times even if the level cap is not raised. It would make sense to give us an Egi version of every primal. Each Egi will likely have a different function, with certain being more preferable for some fights than others. It's sort of sad that Garuda is currently the 'go to' Egi for (almost) everything. I personally can't think of anything you WOULDN'T use her for (minus when you have to tank), but I've yet to touch the BCoB so I don't know.

This is explained in the summoner story quest. Summoners would basically fight the egi form of the primal and defeat it to 'tame' it. IT would be then that these Egi recognize the summoner as its master.

As for the thread topic, I read in the interview somewhere that summoners will get new summon as level cap is increased. I would imagine that's when they would get summons such as Shiva, Ramuh, and LEviathan in eGI form.
