    I've been locked out of my account because the security token app on my phone screwed up, and brought it back to the original set up phase. Been two weeks, finally got through to support today, only to be told they don't deal with Token issues on chat, it's over the phone only. WTF? Why not put that anywhere so I'm not wasting my time trying to get into chat? Not only that, but the first ticket was cancelled last week in their blanket ticket cancellation. Placed another e-mail ticket last Friday, no response on it. So much for a 48 hour turn around.
    And before you say use the emergency removal code, I tried, but apparently it's wrong. Don't have a damn clue how either, as it was copied/pasted as is from my account page when I set up the token.
    So now I get to rack up the long distance bill, because there's no 1800 number, and the only time I can call is after work. Last 2 days I was on the phone for 2 hours. That's not cheap. So I having just as much fun as you are Ryujin. Wish ya the best of luck with your items and equipment.

    My account was hacked on Wednesday. After being on hold for 1h 59m I got disconnected. Called back and at 1h 43m I got to speak to an SE Rep. He said my account had been banned.. I swear my head turned around on my body and I started spitting green shit at the rep. No Seriously though I lost it.
    Ive done nothing but bust my ass leveling and gearing to have my account banned. The said there was evidence of RMT spam or some bullshit. He told me to check my computer for viruses.. I laughed because I don't download shit, especially shit from sites Im not 100% sure are safe. Second I run MS Security Essentials and in 4yrs have never had a virus. I humored him and ran a full scan while on the phone. I was floored when it found a Key Logger. The only thing I downloaded was from a FFXIV Info Site. I downloaded some maps and they didn't come up on MSSE with any viruses.
    So now I play the waiting game. He said it can take up to a week to get an account back. Im sick.. Pissed at myself for being stupid enough to get a virus.
    He was telling me that there are numerous FFXIV Info sites that are being used by hackers to install Key Loggers. I only used XIVDB.com, Zam and maybe one other.. never even considered there could be hackers... Beware what sites you go to.
    On a side note, part of this I blame on SE. I had a security token on my account, but when all the log in issues started I pulled it off because when you have to sit and try to log in for 3hours.. putting a security key in each time is taxing.

    Make sure you check some of your internet settings. Some "innocent" files that browsers download from sites, may not be all that it says. Could have a hidden keylogger/trojan on it(not the sites doing, but people can add it in if they get past the websites security). Just gotta keep running antivirus. So if it's on autodownload or whatever, turn it off.

    Yup, they still do that and I can confirm it for me and one of my buddy. I even have to close my disconnect my vpn since it was triggering this every single time. So if that work for some and not for other what up with that? Option somewhere in our Squenix accounts or its just that hacker found a way around it or gain email access. Not sure....

    Only 3 ways for them to get your Password and ID :
    1 Keylogger (The most common way)
    2 You give them your PassWord and ID (Selling your account) ......Rare but FF11 had this issue with Players
    3 Square Enix Accounts were compromised .......... (RMTs aren't that smart and it wouldn't get them paid either)
    You forgot one
    4 fake e-mail that look like it is from SE and it say you should login with your login datas after visiting a website, because there are some problems with your account
    (I got one for Paypal. Of course I ignored it)

    That's a big part of this situation that worries me. They're finding a way to dupe the ip check for compromised accounts. Yes people should be more careful with their information, but these goldsellers are finding a way to bypass built in security checks.

    I think that people are misunderstanding how easy it is to get a Keylogger.

    You don't have to go to a Gil-selling website. You don't have to go anywhere sketchy at all.

    All you have to do is mouse over an ad. And this ad can be on a perfectly legitimate website - because those websites usually sell ad space to large providers who don't actually police what goes through that ad stream. If your computer isn't properly secured, all it takes is a single swipe of your mouse across an ad while looking for something else and the program embedded in the ad itself will download and install.

    This is why the authenticator/security token is so important.

    The other hugely important thing is that your game password, your email password, and the passwords you use for any fan sites are all different.
