Hmm, so far I've noticed on my server Coeurl, most items have been listed in all different stacks not just 99.

I liked varied stacks and I do not support the ability to purchase simply one item from a stack. My reasoning? I am a weaver. I process fleece. I want to buy a stack of x99 fleece or more for a discounted price. I am gambling on the item not decreasing in overall sales value by the time I process that stack.
If you don't like the stack, then you're not the intended audience for the stack. Stop trying to tell sellers who it is they should sell to. If you want an individual item, find someone to craft it for you. Player Search. Socialize.
This is legitimately the worst argument I've seen AGAINST being able to buy a partial stack in the entire thread.I liked varied stacks and I do not support the ability to purchase simply one item from a stack. Only being able to purchase full stacks as listed on the market is a terrible design decision, and there is really no logical justification for it.
Just talk to people if you want a single item, or hope some nice seller puts up mixed number stacks.
Being able to buy single items from a stack will be putting the final nail in the coffin of this dying market. Its a dumb dumb move, no reasoning in the world can justify it.
Wrong. It's basically the same argument, and the reason the system works the way it does. In real life, would you expect to pay more money per item for 1 apple or for 99 apples? You might pay $1 for a single apple, but if you're buying in bulk, you generally get a significant discount, paying only half as much per item, or less. In FFXIV you can make money by identifying items that you can sell for a high price in low quantities because people will buy them for a quest, or a leve, or whatever because that's all they need. But crafters are going to buy in bulk because they're going to use it all.
So guess what? Every time you go to buy a single item (or just a few), and you see only big stacks that you don't want, ask yourself this question: "Are other people likely to encounter this same situation?" If the answer is yes, then you have an opportunity to make money. If you have a problem with that, it's your own problem, so stop complaining.

wait I'm confused...people are complaining that if we can pull out one item from a stack, that they will loose money since when they sell things in stacks they are giving a "bulk deal".
Well then how about not selling them at a discount and sell them like you would if you were selling them individually? problem solved then no?
Nobody is going to take the time and effort to make one item especially for someone, I have tried shouting even when I have had the mats and nobody has replied.Just talk to people if you want a single item, or hope some nice seller puts up mixed number stacks.

These people seem to think they are doing us a favour by making their stacks cheaper, well yea it might be cheaper per item but if I'm still having to pay 100k a stack I'm not doing it.
I never asked for the discount, its like going to a store and getting 3 for 2, the shop is only trying to get you to spend more money at the end of the day.

Then as someone else said, socialize. Get into a crafters LS or get in touch with crafters. Sure i can agree that some items are needed in single stacks, but being able to buy single items will kill the market boards. Not to mention, you only got 40 slots of market space. People are trying to get the most profit out of their slots.
If I see a stack of crafting stuff on the market for 99, I'll put a stack of 25 on the market at a similar cost (I don't ever list at 1g...I'd rather head into an area and shout to see if someone wants it for free). If someone doesn't want to buy that in a stack of 25, they should take the time to level their gatherers, like I did, and go out and get the stuff themselves. I could see maybe adding a check box for "allow this item to be bought in single amounts", but changing the way I sell my items just for other people's convenience seems like it's laughing at the time I already spent getting my gatherer to higher levels.
Getting gathering class to 50 is no joke. For me so far it's the hardest of all three to level. I should be able to sell my wares how I want.

Now I have no issue with you selling your stacks of 25 as you see fit, but are you suggesting people that would rather sell their stacks as piecemeal be denied ?
Why is it you can sell what you like how you want, but the rest of us can't ?
I know plenty of crafters, but not always are they online and not always do I want to bother them, not always are they available to craft me something, not always do they have the correct craft to make me an item .. I can go on >.>Then as someone else said, socialize. Get into a crafters LS or get in touch with crafters.
