Constructive ideas were already made in the post... if they simply tune the content to need 3 or 4 dps as opposed to 2 then the problem would be fixed. Increasing the HP of mobs would be a simple fix to allow this.the reserving instance problem aside, what exactly do you want them to do about the long wait times as a DPS? they cant make players not disband because of a wipe, and they cant make more people play tank and healer. I really want to hear what all of you suggest for a solution to this. Every single mmo out right now that uses a dungeon finder system has long queue times for DPS. The only solution to this that i know of is make friends with a tank or a healer, that's what i did.
Tech, and knowledge about them, is not shared directly between companies, and is generally not something simple enough to understand (or even find) just by using Google. Actually, as long as the product works (and reasonably so, given the situation), I wouldn't be pissed. Depending on what it is, maybe a little disappointed, but again... situational. I've had enough time with MMORPGs (and working in management) to fully grasp the idea that things can go wrong. Be it on our end or theirs, and whether or not said problems are really cause for crisis reactions. In a gloomy perspective towards MMORPGs, you are a guinea pig. They can't make their servers 100% capable of upkeep regardless of the number of players or any errors that might occur. It's silly to even think it possible. So when it happens, you were part of the unintended test.If its already been done then they simply need to look at what others have done and modify code to work for them. That said, we are not gini pigs for SE to practice on. We paid for a product and we expect it to work. There is nothing odd about this because if you bought a car and it didnt work but they said they work working on a fix for it but didnt have an ETA you would be pissed.
AGAIN, the game was designed for the casual player. The casual player or any player for that mater does not want to be in ques for 30-45+ min due to shabby coding/servers when they PAID for something.
Like I pointed out in a previous response, not everything is tailored for casual players. Some elements are tailored for casual play, just as some elements are tailored for hardcore players. Certain elements of core play are friendly for the generic player to get used to (casual play), but dedicating an hour or two of play is not something a "casual" player can't do. It's an expectation of MMORPG players in general, casual or not.
Learn about the systems for the genre of MMORPGs, and you will understand that problems WILL happen. It's an inevitable problem for the genre itself that, based on the fact it's inevitable, cannot be prevented from happening, but it can usually be fixed over time. The queue times for solo queue being 30-45+min isn't exactly unusual for DPS classes (I know you're a tank), but for your role, it seems to be unusual. Not sure why it's a crisis though...
ive played games that use more than 2 dps and queue times are still really long, that isnt going to fix the huge disproportion between tanks/healers and dps. so it might be a 30 minute queue instead of a 40 minute queue.
Not fixing the fact that there's a queue time with a pre-made group is going to kill this game, seriously. With how much grinding is now required to get geared it's just not going to be fun for anyone when you already HAVE a team and still got to wait as much time in queue as you would solo.
It's inexcusable.
You are way to stressed. Take a breather....get a hug or something mate
First and most importantly, you don't understand how the instance servers work. They added more instance servers to allow more simultaneous instances. There's no "making servers into smaller groups". Everyone on all Worlds has to potential to use any of the instance servers. People aren't segregated. So the additional servers reduce problems with the queues and allow more simultaneous connections.
The reason DPS queues are so long is because 80%+ of players are DPS. And the number of tanks is decreasing everyday due to abuse by entitled DPS. SE is not to be blamed one iota for long queues, especially since they increased the number of simultaneous instances that can be run. If you want fast queues, play a tank or healer.
If you're DPS and you don't want to wait for queues: Form your own party manually.
This has nothing to do with being stressed but rather with being agrivated that their second release of the same title is having serious issues that will push people away from the game again. I like the game, its a great game WHEN you can play it but they need to fix this quickly. People like yourself hinder progression. The whole relaxed and it will be fixed when its fixed attitude is not how customer service works in the real world.
There's always a ginormous influx in DPS compared to other roles. DPS/DD will always struggle in everything duty finder/dungeon finder/mate finder when it comes down to it cuz of its bottle necking. There's only a handful of healers and even less of tanks, but there's a million and one DPS/DD. There's just no room for them in queues.
1. Do you know my background? Do you know what I have studyed in or have knowledge about? I think not so thats a silly and ignorant on your part.
You make it so easy to discredit you... Read this link about the 3 smaller server groups now: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...66d5ddfed8ac50
Yet AGAIN someone who doesnt read before they post... I'm a warrior not a dps and having these issues.
AGAIN, this thread is NOT about getting full parties made but the "Waiting on reserved instance" once the part is already made.
