Your English is very good compared to some English speakers.

You are correct though DPS is a measure of what a Damage Dealer does not what the job is. I can only guess this comes from WoW and other english MMOs.
Many have chosen to interject other game terms that have no place in Final Fantasy.

Other things of concern in relation to Final Fantasy XIV: ARR as an MMO.

1. We have /tells not whispers.
2. We have Linkshells and in ARR Free Companies not guilds.
3a. We have DoT (Damage over Time) spells and Enfeebles
3b. We have Sleep and Repose not mezs'.

Actually Yes. Just as I would learn French if I lived in France.

I was required to learn English in order to live in America.
