I'm confused, why do we have Coil but not Crystal Tower?

Between Allagan and AF+1, there is really nothing for the Crystal Tower to offer people in terms of gear. For anyone clearing Bahamut's Coil, it will be dead on arrival.

The only reason to do it would be in the case of not being able to get enough tokens or actual drops for alt classes and whatnot, or iLv80 crafted gear (unknown).

It really was a poor decision, on top of that the only content we currently have to do is Amdapor Keep and Bahamut's Coil. We are locked out of farming whatever we want from Coil, and Amdapor is repetitive and only really needs to done a few times per week depending on how far your group progresses in Coil. This is a game we are paying each month to play, there is more to do in F2P and B2P games than this.

Agreed that it was an awkward thing to do.

Yoshi's belief was that Coil was tuned SO high that no one would be able to do it anyway, without getting Crystal Tower gear. Unfortunately (but not surprisingly), many teams are well on the way to proving him wrong.

However, it is likely that what he said was correct for the majority of the player base. So keep in mind the folks that clear Coil before CT comes out are a distinct and small minority - a few hundred out of a few hundred thousand.
