The race is called Seedsear

Yes, The German and French translations call her a Female Roegadyn specifically. The Japanese and English do not.Hmm... On a related note, is the Chief Admiral of Limsa Lominsa, Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn, a female Roegadyn? The only other time I remember a female Roegadyn being mentioned was in the r20 Goldsmith quest where you learned about beautiful females that were immortalized in brooches.
But her name, and appearance already made it obvious what she was. Especially if you put her artwork up next to the artwork from the box art by yoshida-san (not yoshi-p)
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Also in the description of the Sea Wolf Roegadyn's on the http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ site it says this. "The Sea Wolves originally hail from the islands of the far north seas, where they still subsist as fishermen and women." That with the looks based on how I thought female Roegadyn's would look and we get LL Company leader.

ya the pad'jal are unlikely to become playable races as that would'nt fit with the main story line at all. Any Gridanian will know it wouldn't work.

I simply figured she was one of those seers from Stillglade Fane (Conjurer's guild) at Gridania. If you start with Gridania as your location for main story, then you get to come across those seers a few times. As i recall what those guys looked like was a human child but they had hornes. Reminded me of Satyrs actually.

It only says that they are children (probably Hyur) that were touched by elementals. Then they retain their youthful appearance and grow horns. I think the character itself is plausible as a playable race, however, they appear to only be magic users. They could have base stats that reflect this, but still I think it would lose some of it's magic to be a marauder or lancer or something when they are suppose to be rather frail/fair looking children with heavy magical powers.
Also, their base model would be that of the children in this game...which I'm not entirely sure is all that attractive anyway. I guess when we see Senna it may prove me wrong. Nonetheless, just due to their magical nature sort of takes away from them possibly be a race we could be...not that I don't want to be one, just not sure how it would fit in historically speaking. =p

Which box art are you referring to? The North American release I think is different from the other ones. But her name, and appearance already made it obvious what she was. Especially if you put her artwork up next to the artwork from the box art by yoshida-san (not yoshi-p)
