I feel a bit like the whm. Since early release I have been exploring La Noscea by myself (I didn't spoil it for me in beta) soloing arcanist to 21 so far. All I've done is Sastasha once and just tonight unlocked Tamtara. I feel so far behind my legacy shell. All my version1 50's are on hold atm.

The world is small but it literally eats up the hours if you just explore and appreciate it.

Sadly everyone else is just soloing or crazy grinding, and in town everyone is just crafting. No one strikes up conversation. Where's the magic gone?

My story would be different, but I can definitely relate to the video.

Just today walking round Ul'dah and seeing so many level 50s, I was kinda reminded of the first time I arrived in Jeuno. The great thing about that 'city' is that most of the high levels stayed there and I really hadn't seen that many before I arrived, which was always by a mad run through hostile terrain. It really felt like I had arrived somewhere new because there was a completely different buzz about the place.

I'm one of the few these days that thinks the journey is too fast. I don't need to be max level. I still remember fondly many things from FFXI in a way that I do not for any other computer games before or after.

Yeah, I was the same way when I first came to FFXI and I remain that way still in FFXIV. I play to explore and see new places, the level grind is solely for the purpose of being able to explore those zones without being brutally murdered. :P Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a challenge in gameplay and love to test my skills but nothing impresses me more than a wonderful, colorful world.

Hahaha, you can explore every area now at level one without being murdered. Go for it, takes about 10mins each zone.

@OP: Gee thanks lol that's all I needed was some feels up in here tonight. I'll admit it tears were shed from my eyes.
Wow this brought back SO many memories of XI. Yes XI was my first MMORPG I've only played 5 Total including this one.

Sadly I feel like we lack so much means to be very social the way it used to be in XI. No I don't and never have wanted XIV:ARR to be XI-2. No I don't want to go back to a broken game(Sorry personal opinion ALERT SoA ruined XI.)

I used to do all those things and more in XI lol. I would go exploring new places, I LOVED learning lores through out the towns and other places. Some of my favorite spots were places NO ONE else would even go to! I love sitting in Selbina and Mhaura for hours at time just chatting away.
