I wonder how many people would now take exp loss for dying rather than durability loss even when you don't die. Exp is far easier to come by than gil anyway.

I'd take it, but that's just because I'm used to it from FFXI, and it has nothing to do with the in-game gil situation. /cough
It would also make raises and grinding mobs in dungeons more worthwhile again, though I'm sure they can find ways to make things work out that don't involve bringing back the generally-disliked exp death penalty.
I think durability system is much worse. Disliked because of how things were in XI but here it would be different. I can't bear to keep repairing my gear and crafting has less emphasis in v2 anyway - I hear other people can't repair your gear now?? It's just a chore, you could get a decent buffer from a short time doing fates that could last a while. People don't like being punished but at the moment we are even if we succeed.
