    What is the best gear in this game right now?

    I have seen some people talking about farming dungeons for gear, but I was under the impression that crafting level 50 HQ gear is the best you can get (after you put materia in it).

    Why are there so many level 50s going for lower tier gear when they could be working on crafting or looking for a crafter? Am I horribly mistaken and crafting isn't the best route for gear?

    Thanks for any clarification on what gear I should be aiming for.

    No, what I'm asking is what is the best gear in-game? Is it from crafting? I feel like I might be wrong because most people are going for dungeon farmed gear.
