Could we get an actual explanation as to why the queue can't be used?

So basically their login server can't handle it and 1017 can be expected during peak times and weekends...

SE spent so much money developing this game to make it good, which it is... but I don't understand why they can't afford enough servers to let everyone enjoy it?? I guess once the trial period is over and the players who don't want to pay monthly fees leave, the situation may get better.

Oh look, another weekly server update which does nothing to address any of the issues around character creation locks or character transfers followed by yet another dev post saying how much a priority it all is. Which is exactly what we had last week as well.

I expect to see the same next week, another update which will do nothing followed by another dev update post saying how it's still all a really top, top priority honest!

Just not good enough.

That list is already out of date. Moogle (EU) is now back to locked again, expect the NA servers to follow as people wake up and log on.

And given Moogle (EU) is the server I've been trying to get on to for the last 2 weeks, this has changed nothing.

They increased the capacity but what can they do if they got full again? You cannot expect them to open the gates for everyone. If it was possible what was the point in having different worlds? They could just scale it vertically and have 300k players on a single server.

Anyway they will probably reopen some of them from time to time. They gotta split the new characters on the various servers now.

Just create more and more servers to handle the new comers... I don't care if they become ghost towns during non-peak times, hey at least then I can cast a spell on a full-health mob in a FATE without the mob dying in the 2 seconds before my spell lands. =)
If they run out of summon/monster names for the servers, I'll be happy to suggest some.

They are, but people keep going into the overcrowded servers. If SE adds new servers but the users do not go there what can they do? Shut down that world and force everyone in there to move to the newer ones?

But they haven't even added new servers for EU players in this latest update!! Despite ALL the current EU ones being closed to new character creation at peaks times since launch!!

End of the day though I don't really care about their excuses any more. I bought this game 2 weeks ago to play with friends, and I'm still not able to.

Maybe because Lich, the last added EU server, has never been closed even once since it was installed? Let's not complain just for the sake of complaining please.

Lich is shut to new character creation every evening and most of the time at weekends. Every EU server is overcrowded.

And the issues are linked, people being unable to play with friends on EU servers is directly related to the general unavailability of space on EU servers.

I don't know why they even labeled them as EU servers. Seeing as how the EU data center is physically in the same location as the NA data center(duh because they are the same). The only difference is the prime time slot based on how many players are on at any single time.
