The bolded is not true in the least bit. People are still playing because they either want to be a decent rank once things start happening, or to check out whatever content implemented as S-E goes. Everyone still hanging around wants Square Enix to vastly improve on the game. That was indicated with the first poll asking if players would be willing to see the game undergo drastic changes in order to be improved.
