Why are PC players being so stuck up to ps3 players?

I'm sorry I didn't take time to read the whole thread before posting this, but here are a few practical solutions.

1. PS3 supports mouse and keyboard, so if you're willing to click spells you may play pretty much as well as PC players. The controller itself is quite OK for most purposes, however it's true that as a tank or healer, targeting is rather hard and unpractical, especially since you can't use mouse-over macros to heal quickly, or select a mob directly from the list as a tank, overall you loose precious seconds. I'm not saying some people can't perform with a controller on PS3 as well as on a PC with keyboard and mouse, but most will struggle to reach the same speed of reaction, and in any case it's much more stressful and intensive with a controller. The only limitation so far is that the PS3 client doesn't allow for typical keybinds, and just adding that feature would entirely solve the issue (SE if you're reading this...)

2. As for communication, if you own a smartphone or a tablet, voice chat apps do exist (Mumble, Ventrilo, Team Speak). I'd advise people to choose mumble since it's cheaper overall (open source software). We do that in our FC, and so far things are OK. We haven't tried much HL content yet, though.

I have friends who play on the PS3 and we do all content just fine even if a majority of us are on PC.

Skipped through the thread, but this is a sentiment I share. While I don't use a controller myself (unless gathering), I have yet to be able to pick out a single player for being on the PS3 or using a controller. I had the perception that it would be clunky, or make the players subpar, but then I found out that one of the best tanks I currently know plays on the PS3 with controller, and has no issues with any aspects of the game.

Can't we just call out the idiots that fail at positioning regardless of which system they use? These guys are the real problem when it comes to end game.

I'll tell you why the PS3 is inferior, its a closed system that's it. it can use any HID device, if you dont know what that is it is simple, you plug it in and its recognized without using additional drivers(the system already has them.)
that being said any game that is properly coded for the PS3 will perform circles around a system of the era it was built in with the exception of high end gaming machines that cost 10 times that and many budget PCs just 3 years ago were still being outperformed by the PS3. these very PCs are the reason a lot of people got XIV for the PS3 because their PCs simply cant handle it

as for controller vs keyboard/mouse...its all in how you use them they are simply tools. and you will not be able to tell which system a good player is on unless they tell you

as for which is better.
well the typical desktop PC is better due to its expandability. but that still does not excuse that blaming a system/tools on bad players is exactly what many of you are doing in this thread.

I'm also part of the FGC (Fighting Game Community), and a similar argument appears there too: gamepads vs. arcade sticks. In the end, the performance comes down to the individual, never the tool you're using.

Sadly, the only difference here is that at least most fighting game players, on either side, will accept it once they've been shown. But you succeed with a gamepad in a PC game, and nobody cares; they keep spouting nonsense and pretend you're lying or don't exist. Fun times! (Edit: I'm actually a stick player; collector, builder, modder, etc. I actually perform equally on gamepad as long as it's a dualshock, though... Certain things get harder, others get easier, and it evens out for me.)

I actually can't play half as well on mouse and keyboard in this game compared to other games for some reason. I ended up switching to gamepad so I could move and act independently of each other more easily. In every other MMO I use ESDF keybinds and have no trouble, though...

I know what you mean. I can nail certain Links(SFIV) on a pad, but on a Stick, I can nail them all day.

I'm on ps3, with a mouse and keyboard, yet I don't use it :P
I type with the keyboard but play with the controller. I'm quick at selecting allies and enemies when situations call for it, and I find it easier to move around with the control.
There's some drawbacks with trying to select a single guy out of a million in a FATE, but mostly I'll just focus on my party and keeping them alive. If I'm not healing you in a FATE, party with a white mage. We're far more useful that way ^^

The draw back with the number of people on a screen at once can be a slight delay, but never when it matters.

PS 3 Gamers are not comparable to PC players and the shoudent be on the same server, PS 3 Players cant really keep up with PC player in movement, tanking/healing etc... you see it in amador keep if you have a tank with a PS 3, he has a hard time holding aggro cant avoid stuff etc...Also i understand companies that says i dont want PS 3 Players in my raid, i also dont want them.

I've seen a lot of hate towards PS3 players, and things like "how could you possibly tank/heal on the PS3!?". Funny really, most people don't know I'm on PS3 until I mention it and then they're all surprised. And to the people who say you can't possibly do all this on a PS3... you do realise that a lot of PC players use a controller right? Yea sure PC gets 1 or 2 more hot bars but let me tell you if you really know what you're doing you don't need any more hot bars. PC players like that are just afraid of the PS3 because they cannot possibly accept PS3 as a viable gaming platform, cause of course PC=CHAMPION!!!11111

yet again a load of arrogance, you are blaming the PS3 for bad players, you will not be able to tell a good player is on the PS3 unless they tell you. that is a fact

I'll bet you a good portion of these bad players are on the PC not the PS3

you probably think I'm on the PS3 because I'm defending it as a platform but I'm not, your argument is full of holes a gaming PC does not make a good player. a bad player will be a bad player nomatter what you put them on and you will still try to blame the PS3 for it
