Don't try and argue with them, I tried to make the same statement and it became an argument as to why I'm a douche for explaining why PC players might not want PS3 players in their groups.Once again some other PS3 user seem to misunderstand what I'm saying in my post. I have no disrespect for any PS3 player, play how you want to. I simply will not invite someone I know is on PS3 because I limit my player pool to those on PC. It's my choice and you're making me out to be an elitist or something by stating my preferences. I'm sure there are plenty of PS3 players that are skilled and capable.
Logic and basic human reasoning are not present here.
You're being extremely condescending in your posts, I feel like you're edging them on. We all pay for the same game, voicing your displeasure publicly in such a manner is going to yield lashback.
Keep this game clean of angry children and RMT.
Report gilsellers and abusiveness whenever you see it.
Eh, if people refuse to actually read what I say instead of attacking me then beating them over the head verbally till they get it will suffice. If that comes off as condescending then maybe they should use their brains and read before posting.
I'm not going to lie. I'm on PS3 and I see it now, that the 24 man raids are going to be bad. Maybe not too bad as FATEs where there's damn near 50+ people. Good thing I will get this on PS4 for free so, I have my first PS4 game already.
I'm not sure what's so hard to understand: There would not be a PS3 version if you could not complete all the content on it. They made each and every dungeon, quest, instance, and battle with both KB/M and controller in mind. AK? Titan HM? Bahamut's Coil? All of it can be done on the PS3.
Saying that you don't want PS3 players in your FC is an absurd amount of pointless elitism. But maybe that's a good thing, since that means we never have to deal with you? Because God knows there would be other things twisting your knickers. I can just imagine it... "Sorry but we don't allow left handed players." "I don't run dungeons with people older than 35." "Do you live in Wyoming? Yes? *leave*"
I absolutely hate this side of the argument.
I play on the PC, and I use a controller. I can easily switch between 3~4sets of macros without wasting time (micro-managing between the GCD and not losing DPS or Healing time), and I 100% guarantee you I would be fumbling over myself if I tried to do that with a keyboard and mouse. Targeting issues? My mouse is literally inches away from me, and if needed I can instant target someone and cure with my left hand. It's not the tools you have, but how you utilize them to your maximum efficiency.
I'm also part of the FGC (Fighting Game Community), and a similar argument appears there too: gamepads vs. arcade sticks. In the end, the performance comes down to the individual, never the tool you're using.
To be fair, there are games/genres that have clear and superior methods of playing them. Starcraft comes to mind -- I couldn't see a gamepad user micro-managing just as well as a mouse/keyboard user.
This is exactly how I feel about that situation.I'm also part of the FGC (Fighting Game Community), and a similar argument appears there too: gamepads vs. arcade sticks. In the end, the performance comes down to the individual, never the tool you're using.
Its not PC vs PS3 its, PC vs console, the pc vs console wars have been going on since forever nothing new.
So....um....what happens when PS4 version launches? >.> I'm all for consoles AND PC's, played XI on PS3 (60GB version), up until Seekers nipped PS out of the picture. I thoroughly enjoy both XI and XIV on PC just fine, preferring gamepad either way though as that's what I'm just accustomed to. So truthfully if I were to play on PC and use KB/Mouse combo, I really feel I'd be hindering rather than helping my groups lol. I will say though, after playing XI on PC and adjusting graphics, dayuuuum...had no idea what I was missing there xD. I love story/gameplay, but a sharp picture is always appreciatedAaaaand I'll end it with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DmYLrxR0Y8
I don't particularly care how others play. I play on PC, but utilize an XBox 360 controller for most gameplay issues, and if precision targeting is needed, I can quickly reach for the mouse, acquire target of desire, and even punch in a key command before going back to the controller. I refuse to out a PS3 player simply because he's able to accomplish the same thing without buying a computer. Good on him. If you plan to get hardcore into raiding/tanking/healing, it may not be a terrible idea to look into a PS3 compatible KB/Mouse (I'm certain they exist), but even without, it's quite possible. They may wish to dive a bit deeper into the macro system for ease and speed, but the tools are there to accommodate both players. You can even enable mouse control on your controller, which was actually surprisingly fluid, given practice.
