I think they should put like a 1 hour time out for people that just leave like that. My group and I have helped out several "new-to-the-dungeon" players, even if we are doing the dungeon for the 300th time. I mean... they are using duty finder! If they want to avoid training, they need to form their own party outside of duty finder.

How about we blame both? Just because the developers made an oversight doesn't give you carte blanche to be an asshole.

Dropping immediately without even attempting the run is a huge dick move and should not be excused.

Those type of tanks are hard to come by these days. I've ran into a few thankfully. I just want to say thank you to all those tanks that don't bail out on groups for that reason.

Just gotta pipe in here, that its not just Tanks who do this. I've had healers do the same thing because certain members were there for the first time, or didn't know how to do a speed run. As a tank, I try to explain things, but if a healer drops immediately because its not a Speed Run, its just as annoying.

I do agree that there's too much elitism when it comes to running AK, however. I'd rather just get through it, than worry myself if its a speed run. Better to get it done, than keep dropping groups and waiting for debuff to wear before going back in.

I can relate, somewhat.

Been playing on a JP server. I dunno how it is as a wHM, but the first day I ran AK as tank was damn frustrating. Even watching the youtube video of it (thanks sheephead) for learning how to speed run, I still had to put it into practice before finally being able to complete it with ease consistently. Didn't help that every PT I had was composed entirely of JP, who, to their credit, tried to explain to me that Regen generated Enmity amongst other things.

I had one JP ARC claim me "the worst tank in the world" and raged quit DF. Just one tho, out of what, hundreds.? And I did sympathize for him actually, because you know, rdps classes are the most difficult to play!

It only took a day tho. The next day I was running AK like a boss. Sure, it was frustrating that first day. But once you get it down, it's cake.

Exploiters will always find exploits. They already removed trash "leashes" from beta for this reason, quit making excuses for yourself.

Im a WHM but ive fortunately done most of the content, including a nominal amount of AK. I dont discriminate i simply tell them what i can but you mainly learn from experience, then i just know to cover them a little more than the experienced guys, and as for Demon Wall, i expect deaths as its one of the first heavy mechanical fights, however you do get some golden gems shine through, i had a first time tank and he didnt die once throughout the whole dungeon, cleared it in 25 or so minutes, we were amazed yet jubilant at the same time.

What are you talking about?
He said he was ok with a speedrun (as in skipping trash), the people bailed on him because he was new to the dungeon and not because he weren't ok with a speedrun.


Btw, me and a friend were in a similar situation when we first got to lvl 50 (we were well geared as well for new lvl 50s, with all gear >45).
We decided to try out The Wanderer's Palace, me as WHM and my friend as PLD. We got 2 legacy players and told them "We haven't tried out this dungeon yet so if there's anything special to watch out for here then please tell us.", and they just went "LOL, it's impossible to do this if you're new! And your gear is way too low" then they just left. We hadn't even moved from the starting spot..

We did get 2 new players almost right after though and then went on and cleared it with them instead.
People are just morons if they don't give people a chance even.
