Totally agree, it would be very nice.
I'd actually like more "flavor" achievements, on the style of what was shown by Warhammer Online. At the moment the achievment list is too cold and "scientific".

Annoying as you're starting out and you're just getting those generic achievements that are on the lodestone. But hopefully they get more creative with the pre-reqs for higher level achievements like a certain other game...

I don't see the reason to bring up the "certain other game", given that the "certain other game" copied the achievement system bit by bit from Warhammer Online's Tome of Knowledge.
You seem to be a tad unclear on the meaning of the term "functional".
Again, are you aware that Blizzard didn't invent achievements? They didn't even invent achievements in MMOs, mind you.imagine you leveling up all the jobs you will see earn 10 20 30 40 60 18 times. add how many camps are in this game, you will get an achiv for every camp. alot of you do not want this game to be like WoW... yet.... this will make it like WoW in away. If they gonna do it. I would have it be how ffxi did it. Where you talk to an npc. That way it isn't annoying.

Simple option to make the achievements pop-ups in game work for everyone: The option to turn them on or off. You'd still record achievements earned, but you'd choose whether to see the graphic animation for each of them (or maybe only certain ones?).you get achivements from gil earn in levequest, attuning to camps, level ups, story quests completions. sorry but there is a fine line between good an annoying, and I think this will get annoying after a while.

Social networking is the future of social online environmemts. The point is bragging rights, which many people appreciate, and that's why many people use programs like Raptr to post their achievements on facebook and twitter.I agree what's the point of listing them online? I never look at that page and I have no idea what achievements I have yet to unlock. Sort of takes the whole point of having them in the first place. Oh and would it kill you to attach some unique gear to unlocking the hardest ones? I guess it would since your 3d modelers haven't lifted a finger since launch...
Which is actually something that SE should look into implementing (facebook and twitter integration, that is).
You heard him Yoshi! Stop working on content, move the teams to epeen bragging for 14 years old nerds.Social networking is the future of social online environmemts. Never said WoW was the starter, or invented achivements. I just find it funny the stances in the game contradict 1/2 their arguments. I also brough WoW up as that is the most irritating style of achivements. I do not want everything to have a toggle since they are not listed in game under a menue option you have to remember the command or log off to look it up. I suggested a viable option, want achivements on screen go to a bard and unlock them. The thing is about WoW is those pop up suddendly, This causes me to jump 50 feet, Which gets my heart racing which inturn can make me sick. I do not want to end up not being able to play a gaim over that nor do I want to say no one can have them. But a toggle is not always the solution. A achivement npc would be suffice People earn their achivement go to the noc and unlock them witrh all the bells and whistles.
I also do not want to see achivements rule the game. Like having an achivement before doing an event.
Lol you sound like the "experts" on Gamasutra in 2007 and look what happened. Casual and console player markets aren't competing they're totally different markets that don't overlap that much at all.Social networking is the future of social online environmemts.
