Undyeable gear... what?

I was bitterly disappointed about this. The npc characters in the black mage questline have coloured AF, so it isn't a question of lore. I really rather liked the coloured version of the BLM AF and would have liked to be able to wear it.

The NPC chars have different versions of AF (+1, +2, etc)

That's why the colors are different.

We will likely get those as well at some point.
