Admittedly there are a few items I have "just in case", but most of it is stuff I actually use.
If you start playing different classes and especially if you start crafting, you are likely to find yourself running out of space.
I am crafting now actually. And I do it smartly. I sell of stuff I do not need at the moment. I can always go out and hunt items I need. I do not hoard everything. I also try and use gear labled "all classes" that way I can freely switch w/o worry.
You guys are subjected to hoarding. A pretty common thing. You hold any and all items feeling one day you will need it. instead of selling it off and hunting it a later day. Hunting items is something to do in game.
Leveling isn't always about becoming stronger it is also about making lower stuff easier.
I really think you have a point.I am crafting now actually. And I do it smartly. I sell of stuff I do not need at the moment. I can always go out and hunt items I need. I do not hoard everything. I also try and use gear labled "all classes" that way I can freely switch w/o worry.

Because right now I am hording all the stuff I need for later ranks, which in truth is a good idea right? I mean I will never every last one of those items to make the ranks.
the less you craft what you collect the more crap you end up with
im doing 7 crafts right now, soon to be 6(due to finishing them) and i only save mats i need for leveling itself
with the exception of cooking cuz that takes up WAY too much room.
the problem is people save everything that can be crafted period, regardless of if they can use it cuz it can br crafted eventualy, and thats where they run out of room
or they are doing all their combat first and gathering, and will craft when/if they finish them all, in which case no one can save you from that mess lol

Good going for you if you can continue to manage your inventory so smartly. ^^I am crafting now actually. And I do it smartly. I sell of stuff I do not need at the moment. I hope you don't run into problems with inventory space after playing for a few months and trying to level up 4 or more different crafts, and maybe get to a point where people regularly ask for your help to make items (where you may find it is necessary to have certain very basic materials on hand instead of hunting market wards for every single small item you need every time - many of which aren't available), and continue to play different battle classes as well and keeping weapons and armor for those too.

You people that want more storage just go get more retainers, just that when you have to pay for this game your real life wallet will also have a lot more space.
Problem solved ingame and out, more storage for XIV and more storage for real life.

Sure. I would gladly pay to be able to hire more retainers.
By the way, just in case you weren't aware -- currently we can only employ 2 retainers regardless of how much we are willing to empty our pocketbooks.

Well I guess for the time being you guys will just have to watch the show "hoarders" hopefully that will help you out.
Edit: If i was SE I would increase the prices on these "extra" retainers when they do get released, since they look like there gonna be a big hit for the item hoarders.

Yeah, because forcing people to pay more for an already failing game is going to help convince people they should play.Well I guess for the time being you guys will just have to watch the show "hoarders" hopefully that will help you out.

Gil is worthless in this game. Your biggest assets are your materials. Getting rid of them for worthless gil only for you to have to go farm them a week or two later is retarded. I have better things to do with my time.
