I am crafting now actually. And I do it smartly. I sell of stuff I do not need at the moment. I can always go out and hunt items I need. I do not hoard everything. I also try and use gear labled "all classes" that way I can freely switch w/o worry.

You guys are subjected to hoarding. A pretty common thing. You hold any and all items feeling one day you will need it. instead of selling it off and hunting it a later day. Hunting items is something to do in game.

Leveling isn't always about becoming stronger it is also about making lower stuff easier.

Yes, and that should not be a problem. Let players be rat-packs, they love that.

I really think you have a point. I wonder if the more you craft the easier this gets. Because right now I am hording all the stuff I need for later ranks, which in truth is a good idea right? I mean I will never every last one of those items to make the ranks.

the less you craft what you collect the more crap you end up with

im doing 7 crafts right now, soon to be 6(due to finishing them) and i only save mats i need for leveling itself
with the exception of cooking cuz that takes up WAY too much room.

the problem is people save everything that can be crafted period, regardless of if they can use it cuz it can br crafted eventualy, and thats where they run out of room

or they are doing all their combat first and gathering, and will craft when/if they finish them all, in which case no one can save you from that mess lol

Good going for you if you can continue to manage your inventory so smartly. ^^

I hope you don't run into problems with inventory space after playing for a few months and trying to level up 4 or more different crafts, and maybe get to a point where people regularly ask for your help to make items (where you may find it is necessary to have certain very basic materials on hand instead of hunting market wards for every single small item you need every time - many of which aren't available), and continue to play different battle classes as well and keeping weapons and armor for those too.

You people that want more storage just go get more retainers, just that when you have to pay for this game your real life wallet will also have a lot more space.

Problem solved ingame and out, more storage for XIV and more storage for real life.

An additional +10 character inventory would be nice. That way i can still have optimal space for harvest/drops, while still holding the off-hand tool for every class.

To be honest, I'd want to see less inventory space. The amount we have is ridiculous. Lowering it to 60 and then having quests or items to increase the space would be good imho. And I didn't like World of Warcraft, but I did like how the gear you equipped was not in your inventory anymore. It made it so there was a lot less clutter and a good amount of MMO's are doing that (I don't know what game started that but it was probably a long time ago XD). IF and only IF they did that, I would even be ok with 40 slots and then quests or items to make it larger. It even makes more sense. You're not really carrying what is on you are you? Your wearing it.
That and... for the love of god I still hate NPC'ing all my bullcrap I don't want anymore XD can they please make that better. I know they worked on that alot and made it alot nicer but it still could definitely be faster. I want to get rid of my crap and get on with the game @.@ must that be a tiny time sink too?

P.S.: Make there less different almost worthless crap that drops. @.@ just simply too much imo. They lowered it once before. Lower it again and make my inventory not a list of the different ways i can mutilate a dodo's carcass. XD

I think the same that current slot x 100 per character is fine, but leather worker should be able to make "arrow bag" and "repair bag" that enable merge multiple arrow type into one slot, and multiple repair item into one slot too. May be one "repair bag" and hold up to 3 kind of repair materials. (So the space that we will need for repair materials and arrow will be 1/3 of the currently, and everything else is the same.. )

    may be.. beast coin also.

I would like the current 100 slot inventory plus an additional 30-50 slots per class, possibly the top three chosen classes for each player, subdivided into there respective class. The first 12 or so slots for each class would be dedicated to their respective armor slot location and upon equipping a weapon for said class would automatically equip associated armor in that inventory (Armor in you're primary inventory could be allocated across each class if needed at the cost of a class specific inventory slot). The auto sort function would ideally take any raw materials from the primary inventory and allocate them to the appropriate DoL/DoH class inventory for ease of access/crafting/selling.

If this were the case I would like it to be comparable to the Gobbie Bag quest of FFXI, and be quest-able and possibly based on Rank and/or Fame.
