The only thing it signals is that i'm talking about White Mages in this topic. Is a summoner or scholar a white mage? I'm not sure you know what you're talking about in this thread. This topic's about white mages that expect their team to carry them to victory with minimized healing potential. When did I say anything about summoners or scholars? Ridiculous.

Really this is the truth. While it's imperative that the group avoids death throughout the instance, there will always be that one time that things go bad. A WHM or SCH with Swiftcast + Ressurection/Raise at that point can really spell the difference between a complete wipe, or regaining your group's balance and pushing on.

I agree that WHM needs a sort of swiftcast, but forcing all healers to level thaum to 26 is a little unfair imo. They should either get their own swiftcast-esque ability or a separate raise on a longer cooldown that has no cast time.

That's defeating the whole point of cross-class skills though.

At 50, you really should have a handful of other jobs leveled up for full effective use during end-game anyway. Why would you even attempt it if you're not fully ready for it?

Why shouldn't you attempt it? It's not like the world is going to end if you try and fail. It's a game after all. That's how you learn. Swiftcast is definitely good to have, but when I hit 50, no way I'm going to wait for another 26 levels before trying endgame.

I'm not trying to tell you that you CAN'T attempt it, and I'm not even demeaning your ability as a healer. However, I still feel you would be a far more effective WHM/SCH if you have Swiftcast in your arsenal for end-game. That's the long and short of it.

It has many uses beyond just raising, and to make excuses to NOT Learn it while still hoping to participate in endgame is going to get you laughed at, nothing more.

PS: Yes, I think having swiftcast will be mandatory at endgame. But making a PSA for this was unnecessary.

if you don't have swiftcast and your playing WHM... yeah that is pretty gimp

it is such an important ability...not just for raise but for every moment you need to squeeze a spell right the hell now

Tank got hit hard and is in the red. Your still dodging stuff Swiftcast -> Cure 2
Party is taking some real dmg Swiftcast -> Medica 2
back up WHM is down Swiftcast -> Raise
etc etc

Please WHM get this ability
